Paper feeds incorrectly the feeder is pulling to the left and causing the paper to jam or to tear.

Sometimes dried ink on the roller causes it to incorrectly "grip" the paper, making it slip in one section and pull to the side, Check the rollers for Ink and other dirt.
Also try less paper in the feeder, it may simply be too much and is not able to feed it correctly.
Hope this helps GM

Paper feeder stuck

If the paper feeder stuck, do the following:
  1. Gently pull any jammed paper out from the output tray or sheet feeder.
  2. If paper is stuck inside, open the printer cover and remove the jammed paper, including any torn pieces. Then close the printer cover.
  3. If paper remains near the sheet feeder, press the paper feed roller lever inside the paper feeder to release the jammed paper, then carefully pull it out.
  4. Load the paper correctly.
  5. Press the cp_button_14.gif stop button to resume printing.
  • If the printer continues to jam or misfeed paper, and you are certain that there are no foreign objects lodged down inside the paper feed area, your printer may require service. Please call Epson technical support for further assistance.

Hi the paper feed pulls the paper into the printer with a snatch type action and on one side of the paper causing it to jam ? the printer is a epson DX5000/CX4900 series.

***hi there,il be willing to help you on that. ****
there is a great possibility that the rollers of the printer is having an issue. but try there steps first , do a self test on the printer, run a blank sheet of paper, if it jammed, that means the printer itself is broken
put plain paper in the sheet feeder, then press the start button. if it jammed, remove the paper jam and try again.
***if my troubleshooting steps are helpful, pls vote for me, i will appreciate it, so that I can be a part of fixya, thanks, Godbless****

The paper keeps jamming during feed I have changed it but it still jams, I think there is a fault with the feed section at the bottom but I cant find a manual that shows technical details for repairs so I...

Did you replace paper feeder with new one? Most paper feeder problem are rubber at paper pick up roller (bottom side) and small spring at bottom paper pick up roller. Check for "something" slip at paper feeder and lubrication at paper feeder mechanic.

Epson DX6050: Feeder pulls the paper in from just one side

There might be small peice of paper stuck in the paper path. use a flashlight to see if there are any obstructions in the machine. use a thick peice of card stock to maybe push the paper out.

Clean the rollers down where the paper sets in the printer. Do not use cheap generic matte coated paper. Some generic matte coated paper will leave a film on your rollers and cause them to not grip the paper.
