If fuse should burn out, there should be any reason. Without find it, and get it repaired, if you put an other fuse, it might make things worse. It will be best to contact any service technician.

My blower appears not to be working, what could be the problem

Could be a lot of things Stan. Could be as simple as a fuse blown out that is on the blower circuit. Find the fuse box in your car and look for the fuse which should be labelled with something like "Blower". replace with same size fuse if blown which you can get at your autoparts store cheap.

If that doesn't turn the blower on, then your switch used to turn on the blower could be bad, or probably more likely (depending on model of car) there is a separate circuit board that when you change the switch, it connect to this external circuit board which allows the blower to go different speeds. In some car models the blower circuit could be part of the actual blower switch, in other models it could be a separate circuit board.

Try changing the fuse first since it's the simplest thing. If the fuse continues to blow out...then you've got a short circuit somewhere which will be harder to find/isolate. Could be that your blower motor is old and working too hard and needs to be changed. That's a more involved job.

I have a interactive health massage chair model ems-9-s. when you turn the power switch on the back rollers run for 10 seconds or so and it stops. The power light is on in the controller but nothing will...

Hope it is still under warranty. Need new board and possibly more. My parents bought a similar chair and it failed with many issues to fix. Tech replaced all the electronics. Good luck.

No power

Hi,

First Check the power cord to TV, try a different one.

If you are experienced you can take the back panel off the TV

Check for

- Internal fuse inside TV might have blown, its on the power supply board (white fuse, slow blow)
- Buldging Capacitors or they may have leaked brown substance on top or circuit board

If you are going to do this yourself make sure you do not touch the contacts on under side of the circuit board that connect to the LARGE capacitor (looks like a giant battery)

Replacing the fuse is easy no experience needed, make sure you replace it for an exact match, it will say the rating on the metal caps at each end of the fuse.

If it is not the fuse you can de solder the blown capacitors and replace them with new ones.

Total Cost of repair if you have soldering iron and tools will only be about £3 or $5

Otherwise get a pro to repair it for you, but you might pay around £80 or $120

OR

You can note down the model name on the power supply circuit board and Google it.
You might be able to buy a replacement power supply which will be cheaper than paying a TV repair man to get the part and fit it

Hope this helps

During our last storm my Bernina 170 just died. I had it on a surge protector, but it just doesn't turn on. While I love this machine, I also have a B 165, so I thought I would try my hand at fixing it...

If this is an older model, the power supply module is a little sensitive to mains spikes - I've had three that have suffered a similar fate and all have required replacement power-supplies - the switching transistor gets blown and this is a job only for the qualified service engineer. My suggestion, I'm afraid, is to have it checked-over by a service engineer. There is a glass fuse on the circuit board, but if blown, it's usually for a reason and 9 times out of 10, just replacing it results in a second blown fuse !!!

The circuit board has a 25 Amp slow blow fuse is blown

if your circuit board has a 25 amp fuse that a lot of power, like running the compressor.. you need to have a model and serial number for the unit , there is no generic control board , each manufacture has it's own design

Toshiba 57H81 Flashing Red Power Light, Blown Fused F850+F852

Solved by resoldering some solder joints!!!!!!!
********
Toshiba Model 57H81 Rear Projection TV - Purchased 11-09-2001

Problem: Toshiba 57H81 Flashing Red Power Light, No Picture/Sound, Blown Fuses F850 + F852

Symptoms January, 2009:

  • Upon turning on set I got flashing red power light and nothing else.
  • Removing plug for one minute and plugging in results in:
    • Audible click, steady red power light for 2 seconds then slow flashing red light
    • Pushing power button results in steady red for about 2 seconds then slow flashing red light, no other set activity
  • Removing power cord for several hours and plugging back in made no change
    • Audible click, steady red for about 2 seconds then slow flashing red light
  • Possible related note: Over past several months occasionally the entire screen would flicker momentarily and at other times be problem free for weeks.
  • Fuses F850 and F852 found blown

Repairs Made:
  • PD0074 DEF/CON Power Board
    • There are two main power supply capacitors in this set. They are C-809 and C-810. One their negative lead on the printed circuit board re-soldered leads and nearby contacts. I’m told that because the factory left out a printed circuit board eyelet, the connection will come loose over time. When I called Toshiba customer service they said there was a known solder joint problem causing blinking red light.
    • Replaced blown fuses F850 and F852.
      • I actually installed a fuse panel on the inside of the cabinet and routed the fuse connections here instead of ordering the special fuses and replacing them on the circuit board.
      • Had to use a 5 Amp SLO-BLOW for F850. Fast blow does not survive power up. Get the red blinking light.
      • Used a fast blow 2 Amp for F852.
  • PD0073 SIGNAL Board
    • Re-soldered Q751 + Q752 STK392-110 Convergence Amps
    • Re-soldered adjacent pads that looks suspicious

Total Cost to Repair about $10
  • Twelve hours of my time over three days to research issue, disassemble set, make repairs, add fuse panel.
  • Already owned Service Manual and Circuit diagrams from a different 2004 repair.
  • Less than ten dollars at Radio Shack for fuses and fuse panel. Already had wires, etc.
  • Some solder. Already owned de-soldering tools, etc.
  • Visited both local authorized Toshiba factory service repair facilities. One said repair would have to include replacing Q751 + Q752 STK392-110 Convergence Amps with ST392-180, and realigning set for a total of $500+ and it would be more if they had to order a power board. NO THANK YOU! Other shop said $65 for site visit and $30 to make an estimate that could be applied to repair.
