Check the condenser fan located behind the fridge. If it's not spinning right, it may need to be replaced. Also check to see if the defrost heater in the freezer side is making sizzling noises all the time.

I could be a badly placed temp probe, a bad stat control or a spun temp dial.

You will need to replace G.E.part# AP4297272 main control board in the lower right rear of refrige, it can be changed from the outside thru a panel

I have the exact same problem. Except mine will go out of temperature range. I have replaced the thermistor in the fridge and it hasn' resolved the problem. The temporary solution I have come up with so far it to unplug the fridge from the outlet to clear the motherboard and then plug it back in after 10-15 mins. It sometimes lasts weeks, then acts up again. I'm guessing it's a motherboard. (my next step)

have you tryed resetting the unit. you do this by unplugging the refrig. for at least 2 to 3 hours. if this does not do it you may see if there is a red reset button on the compressor that has pop out. try both of these things before you call the repair center......thanks eddy

mother board issue need to call ge to check the mother board it sends all the power to the components in the fridge 800-386-1215 for service

you need to put a inline filter on the wqater line going into the unit. get one that has activated charcoal and reomoves bad taste and other contaminents. replace it every 6 monthe and you should be all right.

you have a bad main control board -- $300 plus to fix it. the board is on the back of the unit. if you can get the part locally, it usually comes with instructions -- good luck.
