How to replace used toner bottle on an LD245 and where is it located on the machine?

there are more possible solutions and cause of this error. First of all the sc code and the sign for no toner are connected. The sc code mean that is there is no toner in the developer hopper. First of all if this code appeared after you replaced the developer, you will need did you connected the two connectors that connect the developer unit with the machine, and also check do the developer unit is properly inserted into the machine. But if this problem ocured before you replaced the developer, than the problem is with the toner holder. Open the front door and check the white hook that pulls out the toner bottle cap when the bottle is home position. This white hook is located on the back of the toner bottle holder. you will notice it when you pull the bottle from 90 degrees angle into home position how it slides on the metal rail located next to the toner bottle holder on the right corner of the machine. If it is broken or out of position than that is the problem. If this part is ok that open the front door and put something like a screwdriver in the upper taster that detects do the front door is closed its located above the red main switch, you will notice a hole with a bronze colored plate inside. The other switch is located on the front right bottom corner next to the third paper tray, you will notice a hole in the olive-brown color plastic. When you will insert something into this two holes the machine will think that the front door is closed and it start the toner loading process. While the machine run, with the door open notice do the toner bottle rotates.If does not rotate than the motor that rotate the bottle is not working. If non of this help than tell me and i will tell you other possible solutions.

1. Open the Waste Toner Bottle Access Door. The door is located on the left hand side of the machine, behind the Bypass Tray.
   
   
   
   
2. Pull the colored cap from the top of the bottle and screw the cap onto the opening of the bottle.
   
   
   
   
   
   
3. Remove the used Waste Toner Bottle and dispose of it according to the instructions contained in the new Waste Toner Bottle box.
4. Unpack the new bottle from its box.
5. Install the new bottle in the machine. Make sure that the bottle is placed correctly in the machine cover.
6. Close the Waste Toner Bottle Access Door.

Toner add system is clogged. These machines take toner from the bottle and dumps it into a chamber. This chamber has a level sensor that tells the machine to rotate the bottle in oder to add toner. This is why you can see a spiral "flute" going around the toner bottle. Toner is added to the Imaging Unit from the toner chamber when needed by an auger running from the chamber thru 2 90 degree turns. If the machine runs trying to add toner you normally can hear the small motor and auger spinning. It makes sort of like a reer reer noise. When the bottle rotates it will make a thump thump noise. I know this all sounds funny but this is what is happening when the machine is adding toner. Now if you are hearing the reer reer noise at least that means it is trying to add toner. Don't put a lot of emphasis on it, just letting you know what is suppose to happen. If you hear both noises together and the machine runs for a few minutes before shutting down then it is not getting toner out of the bottle.
The long and short of it is that if you have the correct toner in the machine, and the seal was removed properly from the bottle then it should get toner unless there is a clog somewhere.

The used toner collection bottle is located behind the cover, just left of tray 1. To empty/replace this bottle, follow these steps.

1. Turn machine off with red rocker switch, this is located on the left side of the machine.
2. Open front cover.
3. remove screw on the bottom-left side that holds the toner collection cover closed.
4. close the front cover
5. pull out tray 1
6. open toner collection bottle cover(swings to the left)
7. pull out toner collection bottle

At this point you can empty it or replace it, and reassemble in the reverse order of removal.

Remove the small cover on the lower left hand side( one screw only) and remove the waste toner bottle and emptied it ensure that bottle neck is not clouded with toner otherwise even the bottle is empty still it will detect waste toner is full .hope this will help

Where the toner bottle inserts into the holder, make sure the OLD bottles nipple is not stuck in there, this issue will not allow the new toner to flow into the system and the machine thinks it has an empty bottle

The used toner bottle is not actually a bottle at all. Not sure what you emptied, but it sounds like the actual toner bottle itself. The waste toner is contained with in the transfer belt unit. When you open the right side cover, this is the unit that is attached to the door. It is a brown belt that provides transfer of the image to the drum and separates the paper from the drum. Remove this unit by locating the release levers on either side of the transfer unit (push both of them towards the machine). After removing, you will need to actually take the belt unit off of the transfer unit. To do this, remove the two tension springs on either side, and then take a small flat bladed scredriver and release the clips that hold it down (you will see when you get started). Once you get it off, you will see the long blade that actually scrapes the toner off the belt. Dump the waste toner out this end. You will need to shake it pretty hard. A better (and cleaner) option is to vaccum it out using the crevace tool on you vac. Just make sure you completely empty it. Now....do everything in reverse.

Here's what I did.

Emptied the waste toner cartridge. Left it out of the machine. Held the microswitch (located to the right of the optical sensors) in the "cartridge in" position with a paperclip. Printed one document. Inserted the waste toner cartridge. Error now gone!

the part numbers are different for each toner from ricoh, Lanier, Savin and Gestetner. From what I recall is the bottles are different, check the old bottle vs new. Also if the machine had run very low you may have to open and close the fron cover several times, this intiates a toner feed program.
