SOURCE: HOTPOINT DISHWASHER FDW60

Hi,

I have just had my dishwasher fixed by Hotpoint, as the heater was working and the dishwasher only stopped with the fast and delicate lights just before the drying process he replaced the main control board. This has solved the problem, I suspected the fault to be the thermistor as the heater seemed to be getting to hot but I had no idea where it was.

It turns out the thermistor is attached to the main control board and hangs down behind the front door that gives just a rough temperature level for the main control board.

As it's soldered directly onto the control board I would suggest replacing the whole control pcb for anyone with this fault unless you can find any spec details for the thermistor.

SOURCE: Hotpoint fdw60 , were is the float switch?

The float switch is screwed to the bottom panel.  If you tip the machine onto its side, you will see a metal panel held on with six screws - 3 at the front - three at the back.  Remove these screws and remove the panel.  The float switch is secured to the back of this panel. It is a white polystyrene block suspended below an electrical switch.

Try checking the inlet solinoid , should be 1 for hot & cold, sometimes the solinoid will freeze up due to alkaline buildup .try soaking it in CRL , alkaline deposit desolving liquid .

FDW60 Fast40 and Delicate50 flash

heating circuit open is the fault code.
checks to be carried out to make sure of diagnosis

Check the circuit of the heating element (26 ohms).
Check for an open circuit heater cut-out.
Check pressure switch open circuit (connections 11-14).
Check wiring and connections between module card, pressure switch and heater.
If all above is OK, replace module card.

Heater Replacement
1.Remove top cover as in.
2.Remove the left hand side panel.
3.Using suitable floor protection carefully lay dishwasher on right hand side; this may result in
water spillage from the air break unit.
4.Remove the base panel.
5.Disconnect the wiring.
6.Slacken the clips securing the hoses.
7.Replace in reverse order (using jubilee clips not existing)

Hotpoint dishwasher

Switch the machine off and unplug at the mains. Leave for ten minutes, then plug in and switch on. My dishwasher control panel had a mind of its own and did what it wanted including leaving water in the bottom of the machine. The electrics sometimes need re-booting! Hotpoint suggested the solution and it worked for me. Saved me £99 call out charge. Good luck.

Location of element

Hi, Hotpoint FDW60 got a concealled element.
You need to unplug and disconnect the dw, lay it flat on its back and remove the bottom tray (depending on the final letter for your model (FDW60G, FDW60P, FDW60T) you might need to remove the side panels and kickboard to release the bottom tray). Carefull with the floater switch. You should be able to locate the element straight away. Replace it and reverse the process.
Cheers
