Why won't my crib convert. My storkcraft crib will not convert into a full bed. I have tried 5 different metal frames that storkcraft mentioned...and none work. The store I bought the crib said other mom's had the same issue.

SOURCE: Unique Oak Treasures Crib - Full Bed Bassett Model 5542-0521

We have this crib as well. We bought it from Babys R' Us in 2005.
We also purchased the rails to convert it to a full sized bed. It did not come with instructions but I can explain to you how to put it together.

The rail conversion set should come with 2 pieces of wood that act as the bed frame. You do not need to purchase the extended frame. The set should also come with 4 long screws, the hex tool to tighten it and 4 metal pieces. You might also have some wood nail cover plugs.

Once you've taken apart your crib, the only pieces that you will need are the 2 longer pieces of the crib...the headboard and the footboard. The 2 shorter side pieces which served as a headboard and footboard as a crib and the metal grate to hold up the mattress can be put into storage.

On the sides of each of the new wood rails, you will see a circle indent on each end with a hole. You will insert one of the long screws into each and then insert it into the head board. You must use the special tool to screw/ tighten it in. The metal flat pieces can be inserted into it the circle befor eyou are done tightning so that it does not strip or damage the end of the circle. You do this with the other rail on the other end and then add the footboard using the same process. If you would like, I can send you a copy of what this looks like close up. ( the cricle indent with screws. The bed is extremely strong. We've all napt in it as a family along with our 2 large dogs. I highly recommend ordering the extra long/ tall bed rails from OneStepAhead for security because my son has rolled out of the bed and it is super tall!

Hi!

As lots of cribs-stage from Storkcraft, your bed instructions are permanently attached on the board, below the mattress. And for the almost beds, the mattress frame has to be purchased separately, to convert it to a full size bed.

If you would like to have the copy of yours instructions, go to http://www.storkcraft.com/products.aspx?cat=cribs-stages to find your model and save its instructions in pdf in your computer. Good luck!

Is there any way I can convert the Ariel crib into a toddler bed?It was advertized as a 3 in 1 but now that I am ready to convert it I don't think it is...maybe it only converts to a double bed??

Per the companies website (storkcraft.com) it doesn't look like the Ariel is a 3 in 1 but a 2 in 1. The manual is here
http://www.storkcraft.com/docs/all/04588-43.pdf
and it mentions converting to a twin bed, but not to a toddler bed.

Possibly put the mattress all the way down and remove the smaller side rail for a 3 sided toddler bed. Make sure the frame is sturdy enough without the 4th side.

Vancouver-based manufacturer Stork Craft is voluntarily recalling more than a million baby cribs in Canada and the United States over a potential suffocation hazard.
The cribs were manufactured in Canada, China and Indonesia between May 2000 and November 2008, the company said in a release.
About 494,000 of the cribs were sold in Canada and 535,000 in the U.S. in several retailers such as Wal-Mart, Kmart and J.C. Penny, as well as on several websites, including Amazon.com, Babiesrus.com, Costco.com and Walmart.com, the U.S.Consumer Product Safety Commission said in an advisory Tuesday.
You can call them to see if your model is one of them. They aren't listing them...you have to call for a replacement. Sorry.

Remove the rails.Use the previously drilled holes for the bottom of the side rails as the guide for the bed rails.
Did that make sense?

Model 4624-1 Delta Luv Crib

If its like mine, you just remove the front panel that went up and down. Then lower the wood mattress support to the lowest level. You are now ready for the toddler bed. Once you want to convert to a double bed frame. You have to purchase a metal frame that holds the bed. Then attach the back and the front to the metal frame. This should like a sleigh bed. Good Luck, Nicol
