Fast efficient way to determine with fuel... Just hook the line into the tank with the filter to either port of the carburetor, leave the other line detached. Pump the bulb while watching for one of two things; 1) fuel bulb fills and fuel is expelled at the detached carb port, correct connection. 2) No fuel into bulb and air bubbles in the fuel tank, wrong connection.

SOURCE: PRIMER BULB WONT PRIME

I would recheck the carburetor to make sure you put the diaphragms next to the carburetor and not the gaskets.
Please if it is not priming you may have the fuel lines hooked up wrong. Also check the fuel cap to make sure the vent assembly is there. If the tank is not venting, the tank will get a vacuum in it not allowing fuel to flow.

Good Day.

Priming echo BP251 liaf blower

Hi Norman:
I'd check the routing of the fuel lines.
Tank to carb (this is the line with the filter on it)
carb to bulb (suction side)
bulb to tank (return line)
If the connections appear correct but it does not pull gas, check the filter to make sure it is clean, and you can try reversing the connections on the bulb.
Hope this helps.

Which fuel line goes to which plastic input on the snap in primer bulb kit?

Hi Tom:
Routing is:
- tank to carb
- carb to primer
- primer to tank
The primer sucks fuel from the tank through the carb, thereby priming the carb.
If you squish the bulb, the "out" goes to the retun lint to the fuel tank.
Hope this helps.

How do i route the fuel lines to the carburator ?

Depending on which carb you have it should be the fuel line closest to the bottom on the right side of the carb that goes to the small side of the primer bulb. The long side of the primer bulb will go to the fuel tank as the return line.

Fuel line routing for craftsman chainsaw 358.350370

hello sir, routing fuel line for craftsman, homelite, ryobi, hedge and line trimmers, fuel tank under engine, looking at machine from rear, shall fuel line on left with filter attached goes to bottom port of carb, fuel line from right side coming out of tank with inside tip attached goes to bottom port of primmer bulb, top line on primmer bulb goes to top port of carb, fuel tank under engine, fuel line routing, looking at machine from left side, left fuel line coming out of tank(drain back only) goes to right side small port of primmer bulb, left side larger fuel line from primmer bulb to top port of carb, fuel line coming out of tank (larger line) on the right side with filter attached goes to bottom port of carb, when replacing fuel line it is very important to use the same ID and OD line the homelite takes a special line that is black in color and a bigger size, the bigger line is ID .08-OD140 small line ID3/32 X 3/16.when the lines dissolve small pieces will get in the carb clogging small passages and screen,it is advisable that you clean out carb, and use a new filter.hope this helps, any comments welcome, thank you. if the filter has broken off of the line half way that is where you will run out of fuel, hh

I change fuel lines. when i push the primer bulb, there is no gas coming up. the primer bulb is in good condition

You need to make sure the fuel lines are hooked up properly. This is a common error when replacing fuel lines. Not knowing what model equipment you have I will take a stab at the routing. One line goes into the tank with a filter and the other end hooks to the carb. fitting closest to the fuel pump side of the carburetor. One line goes from the "out" of the primer and is a return line straight to the tank. One line goes from the "in" of the primer and hooks to the other fitting on the carburetor. If any of these lines are interchanged, you will not get the proper prime. Hope this helps.

Has Ryobi RCS 3535A chainsaw a fuel bulb priming

The numbers you supply don't cross to an operators manual but that is typical of Homelite/Ryobi. I'm going to make an educated guess that it does not have a primer system. Other Ryobi saws with primer systems include it in the specification. The 3535A does not. Close scrutiny reveals no primer.
IMO fuel primers on chainsaws are one more source of problems. In the USA ethanol additives attack fuel hoses. Without a primer routing is from the fuel tank directly to the carburetor and much simpler to replace. Primers on chainsaws operate differently than 4 cycle engines too. No fuel is injected into the carburetor or engine, its only purpose is to ensure the carburetor is full of fuel,
Typical Fuel hose routing:
  • The hose in the tank with the filter on the free end connects directly to the carburetor input connection.
  • If the saw is equipped with a primer bulb, an output line from the carburetor connects to the suction side of the primer (once the bulb is collapsed it draws fuel from the tank through the carburetor to refill as it inflates).
  • The pressure side of the primer returns displaced fuel to the tank as it is depressed.

Fuel lines rotted, unsure of routing new ones

Bottom of the tank one is an overflow, 2 in the top are connected to the bulb
. The bulb pumps gas from the gas tank to the bowl of the carb then back to the fueltank in a loop to prime things up, prime too much and the overflow comes out the bottom tube.

Ryobi Cultivator 410r

The linefrom the tank with the filter goes to the mixture inlet on carb. The fuel return goes to the suction side of bulb. The bulb outlet line goes to the tank. Hopes this helps
