I a playstation 3 Blue-ray disc remote control which wont pair

Chances are the blue ray eye is burnt out very common problem. When the disc enters the eye blinks to see there is a disc. Then the motor starts spinning the disc. The eye then figures out if it is a blue ray or a regular disc. If the eye is dirty or burnt out the disc will not spin. Try cleaning the eye first. You might have to tear apart to do if regular laser cleaner disc doesnt work. I have the 40 gig version and it is a paper weight for now. There are replacement eyes and motors for them for around $70. Only recommend this if you are familiar with electronics and are comfortable doing this. You will have to tear apart the system down to the blue ray drive. then tear apart the blue ray drive. There are plenty of you tube videos on how to do this. No you can not just change the whole blue ray drive because the drive is paired with that mother board.

1Insert the two AA batteries into back of the DVD/BD remote.

2Power on your PlayStation 3 system manually. You can accomplish this by pressing the "PS" button in the middle of your wireless controller, or on the front of your PlayStation 3.

3Navigate to "Settings" on the PS3 home menu, referred to as the XMB.

4Scroll down the list of settings and select "Accessory Settings" by pressing "X" on your PS3 wireless controller.

5Select "Register BD Remote Control" by pressing the "X" on your PS3 controller.

6Follow the on-screen instructions that appear for registering your BD/DVD remote control. Once the remote is paired, you can control various multimedia applications on your system.

Step 1:Remove the disc from the system.


Step 2:Use a cloth to clean in small circles around the disc (not in a big circle going around the disc). Use DVD or CD disc cleaner if available. If you use cleaner, use a different dry cloth to clean the disc no more than three minutes after application.


Step 3:Verify that there are no disc-destroying marks on the disc. Deep scratches and chips in the middle of the disc can render a disc inoperable.As your Playstation 3 is used more and more, the lens that reads Blue-ray discs can become dirty. This will lead to discs skipping or not being read by the console. If you find this is happening on your Blue-ray discs, either movies or games, you may need to have your console cleaned. Be careful when attempting any sort of cleaning of your console, as improper handling will further damage the Playstation 3. Contact a member of Playstation Support for information on console maintenance.

the only solution i know of for this is to get a new blue ray laser from sony

sounds like the blue ray lens fried, u should be able to find one on ebay or craigs list not hard to put in

Have you attached the original blu ray board to the replacement unit?
That board is paired with the motherboard and will not work with a different one.

OK I FIGURED IT OUT!!! First turn off the system(ps3) make sure that you take the batteries out of the remote. Then when you turn it back on go straight to system setting, setting accessories, setting blue tooth device. AND THEN IT WILL TELL YOU TO HOLD DOWN THE START AND ENTER BUTTON DOWN!. Don't forget to put the batteries back into the remote. It took like 3 seconds.
