I am having the same problem with 9 different sensors. My system is new.

Solved it. The system got disconfigured and triggered itself with no reason (all doors and windows closed) after activating the alarm. Just reinstalled it fair away from my wi-fi modem and voila! It´s working as expected.

You more than likely have a bad contact. How old is the system?

The door open music plays continually even with the door closed. How do I disconnect the door sensor on a Samsung SR-L709EVSS.

The alarm operates from the door switch which also turns light on. When refrigerator door is open for a set period the alarm sounds, fault is possibly either door switch or alarm panel. Can you operate door switch manually while door is open to see if light goes out? If light stays on then you have a faulty switch.

How to set & cancel theft deterrent system or how to set & cancel security...

Theft deterrent system (on some models)

Theft deterrent system is designed to deter vehicle theft. The system flashes the turn signal lights and turns on the interior light or the signal lights only (depending on the model), and sounds security horn and vehicle horn when it detects abnormalities such as follows:

• Any door or hood is forcibly opened.
• The batter terminal is disconnected and then reconnected
• The system control is disconnected and then reconnected.
• Abnormal impact is detected when the impact sensor function is on.

The system flashes the turn signal lights and turns the interior light or the signal lights only (depending on the model), and sounds security horn and vehicle horn if someone attempts to damage or break into your car.

Setting the system

You can set the system with or without the impact sensor function. For details, see "Canceling the impact sensor" below.

1. Turn the ignition key to "LOCK" and remove it.
2. Have all passengers get out of the vehicle
3. Push the lock (set) switch on the wireless remote control key once. At this time, the turn signal lights flashes once and the security indicator light comes on.

The system is set after 30 seconds. At this time, the security indicator light start flashing slowly.

Once the system is set, you cannot start the engine until you cancel the system.

The system will not be set in the following cases.

• When any of the door is open; security horn sounds for 1 second, close the door and set the system again.
• When the hood is open; close the hood securely.

Canceling the Impact Sensor

The impact sensor can be cancelled to prevent false alarms from being triggered incase of the following conditions:

• When parked in the noisy area
• The vehicle body or glass is subjected to a strong impact from the (such as in highly pressurized car wash).
• When transporting by a car carrier or ferry.

To cancel the impact sensor;

1. Lock the door by pushing the lock (set) switch on the wireless remote control key once, and turn signal light flash once
2. Then push the lock (set) switch twice within 5 seconds. At this time, the turn signal flash 5 times to indicate the impact sensor function is disable.

The impact sensor is deactivated as long as the system remained armed.

Canceling the system

The system will be cancelled by the following two ways:

• Turn the ignition key from "LOCK" to "ON" position.
• Unlock any of the doors by pushing the unlock (cancel) switch

If the turn signal lights flash 3 times, the system has been alarmed. Check to see if there is any abnormality with your vehicle.

If any of the doors is not opened within 30 seconds, all doors will be automatically locked and the system will be set.

When the system is set

Activating the system; When the system detects abnormalities such as follows, it flashes the turn signal lights and turns on the interior light or the turn lights only (depending on the model) and sounds the security horn and vehicle horn of 30 seconds.

• Unlocking any door without using wireless control
• Any door or hood is forcibly opened.
• The battery terminal is disconnected and then reconnected.
• The system control assembly is disconnected and then reconnected
• Abnormal impact is detected when the impact sensor function is on.

Reactivating the alarm;

Once set, the system automatically resets the alarm after the alarm stops.

The alarm will activate again under the same circumstances described in "Activating the system".

Stopping the Alarm

The alarm will be stopped by the following two ways;

• Turn the ignition key from the "LOCK" to "ON" position.
• Unlock any of the doors by pushing the unlock (cancel) switch.

The system can be cancelled by these ways at the same time.

If the battery becomes discharged due to the vehicle being unused, for a long time etc., when the battery is recharged or replaced, the system will activate the alarm. If this happens, immediately unlock any of the doors by pushing the unlock (cancel) switch, and the alarm will stop.

Testing the system

1. Set the system
2. Insert a wireless remote control key into the key hole on the driver's door handle, and unlock the door.
3. Open the door, and an alarm will sound.
4. Stop the alarm by pushing the unlock (cancel) switch.
5. Repeat this operation for the front passenger's door.

Good luck.

Why does a 5816 door sensor in my Lynx 5200 system send a fault message even when system is disarmed?

Jon, I am not 100% sure what you are asking about. However, is the keypad shows 'Ready to Arm' when the door is closed and then shows the front door in fault when you open it, then that is how it is supposed to work. When the system sees a door open or movement, then it shows on the zone in fault on the leypad. If you were to try and set the alarm with the door open, the system can tell you which zone needs to be corrected before you can set it. Usually it is as simple as closing a door or window. When the door is closed and it says that it is ready to arm, you are good to set and leave. Opening the door with the alarm off or on will report on the keypad.

Alarm keeps going off

The alarm might be setting to sensitve motions detecting mode, this setting,if u come close to the car or slicely taps or touch it the alarm will go off. This setting it is not good for the car as the motions detection sensors over time will get old and will go off at anything causes some presure even slice wind just past by the car.Take ur car to the alarm tech. check it out for the motions detection sensors again change to mormal setting not sensitve mode this setting mode it actually the best, because the normal setting the door have to open before the alarm will go off.Or the alarm tech have do a replacing a new alarm unit it self, because the detection motion sensors can not do a readjustment or resetting the setting any more.

I have the smart alarm clock model number 4511. I can't remember how to change the time for the alarm. I have pressed everything.

Open the door on the bottom of the clock. There's a switch there that unlocks the time setting function. After you unlock it, you can use the < and > buttons on the top of the clock to move the time back or ahead. Use the "mode" button to select between time and alarm setting functions.

What is an open zone?

An open zone means that a door or window is not completly shut and properly aligning the contacts or sensors. If you know what zone it is open and shut the door/window check the contact and make sure it is making a complete connection-closing the zone. You can bypass the zone and arm the rest of the system, if you can tell me your brand of alarm, I could tell you how to bypass.
