The capacitors are industry standard items that can be cross referenced from the component markings, values, or part numbers referenced on the components through several national component suppliers such as Digikey, Mouser Electronics, or Newark Electronics. If a single bulk capacitor has blown, both should be replaced as the other will have been stressed and should not be trusted to be functionally sound.

Lg 42PG20 possible to work on a 220 volts?

The correct answer is "it depends on the power supply board used in it".

If you click on the picture at

http://www.coppelltvrepair.com/p/716/lg-42pg20-ua-power-supply-board-repair-service

and look at the lower left corner of the board you will see

100v-240V

printed in the lower left corner.

That board used in 42PG20 will definitely work on 220V.

Your TV may have a different board inside though.

DO not assume...verify.

Hope this helps!

Turn treadmill off. Disconnect drive motor wires from lower control board (Mtr + and Mtr -)
terminals. Power up in OLS mode (FAST & START). Bring displayed speed up to 99.
Measure across the Mtr + and Mtr - terminals with your voltmeter (DCVolts). You should
measure at least 90 vdc on a 110V treadmill and 180 vdc on a 220V treadmill.
If you are not getting dc volts out of the lower board, replace it.
If you are measuring the proper dc voltage out, replace the drive motor.

I have a set of stereo computer speakers, Altec Lansing, Model #BX1121 ''Powered Audio System'' that has a subwoofer and a left and right speaker. When I plug the system in and turn the power on, I get...

i did the same thing when i was over seas, damn 220v, and all it did was blow the fuse in the unit, if you have an inline fuse (along the power cord) it might have blown there, if not you will have to take the unit apart and change the fuse, might be soldiered on the circuit board but its a relatively easy fix, just hope that the board itself didnt get shorted out, if so you will need to replace the system, i used this website when i was overseas and all my stuff got to me with in 10 days...

The power is out because of Hurricane Gustav. I have a 6500 watt portable generator and would like to use our clothes dryer which has a 220 volt requirement. Is that possible, and is there a special...

Dryers require a 40A circuit breaker to handle the current. According to Ohms Law: Watts = Volts * Amps. Therefore, you require a power capacity of 220V * 40A in order to safely run the dryer, which is 8800 Watts. This means your generator does not have enough capacity to run the dryer. If we consider the full power of your generator at 6500 Watts, this only allows for 29.5A, which is not enough to run your dryer.

If it WAS possible, you would need to ensure that you ran a 30A heavy extension cord with the correct 220V plugs and receptacles on the end. This would require at least 10gauge 3-conductor wire, which is quite expensive.

However, that point is moot, since your generator does not have the capacity to run your dryer. You could try it, but I rather suspect that the dryer will trip the 30A breaker on the genset circuit. If you do try it, make sure you run a 10-gauge, 30A extension cord or you could have a fire.

Color distortion

Move any speakers or electrical devices away from the set. It could also be anything electronic or magnetic. Anything near the set that generates a magnetic or electromagnetic field could be causing the distortion.

Has your ipod been dropped/sat on/run over??

Normally I'd think it was the headphone socket, however if your LCD is leaking and you are having problems with with volume I think your ipod has suffered an impact which has damaged the logic board.

The bad news is logic boards, while easy to source, are quite an expensive part. If you are not bothered about replacing your LCD I would suggest buy an ipod off ebay with a broken screen and take the logic board out of that, it should work out quite a bit cheaper and of course when you will have a hard drive and a casing left over from the scrap ipod to resell.

To open your ipod use two small flat bladed screwdrivers inserted between the metal shell and the plastic top of the ipod and gently prise apart. Once inside, all the major components are connected with ribbon cables, there is no soldering involved replacing a logic board. Some of these cables are quite fiddly though and the connectors are easy to damage so if you are not confident doing this I'd suggest getting it repaired by a pro.

Konica minolta EP2010 error code c05

I have a Konica Minolta CSPRO EP1054 (in the Middle East)

I accidentally plugged the EP1054 copier into a 110V outlet instead of the 220V. Immediately the malfunction code (error code) of "C05" appeared along with the "Call Tec Rep" indicator light (wrench).

I followed the instructions posted by "Soul Visitor" ... i.e., I found the "Trouble Reset Switch" (not shown in the user manual) by opening the upper back panel and pressing the small black button in the lower right hand corner of the middle circuit board (green).

It worked perfectly!7df26b9.tif
