Re: How can I copy my contacts from htc g1 onto sim card
Hi. I'm afraid this is not possible with the current version of Android Operating System. Instead, you can synchronize your HTC G1 contacts with your GMail account, then through your GMail account, you can export your contacts and transfer them to another phone. Hope this helps.

To transfer contacts from your current phone to a SIM card, do the following:
On your phone, download the Copy to SIM Card app from the Google Play Store.
Use the app to write as many contacts that will fit onto the SIM card.
After writing is complete, you may use the SIM card and app on a different phone to import contacts from the SIM.
*NOTE* Using a SIM card to transfer contacts is an old, limited method. For the best and most reliable contact transfer between Android phones, simply log into your Google account on each phone to sync contacts wireless between them.
G1 is an american branded phone ( GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) , It wont work on all service providers across the world .. You might want to put another service providers sim card ...
you can Unlock your HTC G1 with imei unlock code. it is very simple and eaisiat way to unlock your HTC G1. get your HTC G1 Imei Unlock Code . and use any gsm sim card. i hope this will help you .
Call up tmobile, do not tell them you have a rooted phone or that it was modified in anyway, otherwise they will blame it. They will be able to help you get it working by modifying / adding some settings in your phone.
I dont think you can transfer them to a memory card but you can store them onto your SIM CARD as well as sync them to your TMOBILE account. On your phone under settings you should see DATA SYNCHRONIZATION and you should see where it says contacts, gmail, calendar if you select the square auto-syn Your information will automatically sync tmobile website.
From your Contacts app (you can access it from its tab when you press the green "send" button), press Menu -> Import Contacts, and select the contacts you would like to import to your phone's memory.
The G1 can definitely import contacts from the sim card, to do this you press menu while in the contacts application and then press import contacts. However I don't think it can save contacts on the sim card, because it already automatically saves them to your GoogleMail. So at least your contacts are backed up onto your GMail account.
