There is green light but no display when ribbon cable is pressured

Hi After repairing a fuse on my ds lite, then console would turn on, but no sound or display would come out. After a long period of testing I discovered that the cause was pressure on the upper screen's ribbon cable. when the ds is assembled properly, the doesn't work properly, but if I open it up and slightly separate the motherboard from the rest of the console (so that the upper screen's ribbon cable is "floating") then the console work properly. Does anyone have a permanent solution so I can go back to playing the ds normally?

Hi
I suspect the screen ribbon cable has a small split in it and would need replacing

SOURCE: my nintendo ds lite top screen isn't working properly

Top LCD's flex cable that passes through right-hand hinge into bottom part of case will be damaged or not properly seated in its connector socket.

Sounds like the processor has gone on the mainboard.
Using r4 or similar card? if so these burn out the board sometimes.

I don't know of a repair center but can offer to purchase them from you if you don't think you can repair them yourself. I can help with walking you through each repair if you think you can do it.

When switching ds lite on green light flashes then foes off andbottom screen just flashes on then foes off - top screen does nothing

make sure the top screen ribbon cable is attached to the connector properly, push the cable in as far as it will go and then try again, if that dosent work it may be a fuse on the board prob f2 if that dosent work change both it should fix the problem

Flashing bottom screen (Nintendo DS Lite)

You need to check the top screen ribbon is fully inserted into to place on the board. A green light and flash of the screen within a second means ribbon not connecting right

DS Lite: Green light, touch screen flashes white and turns off problem.

i had the exact same problem, i just fixed it a minute ago by pushing the ribbon cable in farther. make sure you push on both sides of it with your fingernails until it goes all the way in then latch it down.

My ds lite its doesnt power up...

Bummer. Sorry to hear this. Your console is broken and needs to be repaired. Contact Nintendo and arrange to have it repaired (or replaced if under warranty.)

Ds lite

Looks like you left a loose wire or flexible ribbon cable, open the unit again and be sure the cables are well locked into the connectors, be sure the flexibles are in good conditions and over all check the screens or other metallic parts not to cause a short circuit.

Some metallic parts have electric tape isolations to avoid them to touch the circuit board and fry the DS for example when you press a button amd make pressure over the parts.

Good Luck...

Nintendo ds lite

It's not likely to be battery, but fracture in ribbon cable to top screen causing this. Both screens must be connected or you get the symptom you've explained.
