N1996 manual motherboard

that 1996 is not correct (its series name only)

the bottom sticker on the mobo tells what it really is.

did you go to msi.com and the manual on setups"?
are you using the onboard VGA port to a VGA monitor.
The monitor shows no signal means exactly that.
This motherboard has 1 power jacks, the big one 24 pins
and the 4pin at top left of the fan.
you must use PSU v2.2 or newer to get that 4 pin power.

next time post all stickers on mobo so we can see what it really is.
they made vast numbers of motherboards. a fact.

We would need the model number of the motherboard. N1996 is simply the year designed, not enough of a model number. a good picture might help.
