Left side of the upper print??? Please explain where you are referring to. What purpose does the battery serve?

    you have to take off the cup frame on top off the evolution. in the little cups that hold the cup frame you'll find screws. you have to unscrew the left panel and push it up a little bit so the panel can be taken away. you will find 2 electrical plates. the upper electrical plate has a battery that looks like a battery for a watch. thats the battery you'll have to change. the battery is needed to keep your settings when the machine falls out of current ( if not you will need to reprogram all the functions of the machine ).

You can change the battery yourself. it's located on the left side on the upper print. if you change it be sure the machine is in the 'on'-position, if not you will lose all the programming-data. the battery is an 'cr-2032' lithium battery. it is very easy to do :-)

    What do you mean with make sure it's in the on position? So have it plugged in and turned on is it?

Batteries good, but screen shows :batteries empty?
How you know batteries are good? Sometimes new batteries are bad too. Also there is a possibility that you are using wrong type of battery like normal carbon batteries or lower ampere batteries which work fine in other gadgets but will show empty in a digital camera. Digital camera need high ampere batteries like Duracell (if your camera use AA batteries) or rechargeable NI-MH/ Li-ion batteries.

The charge of the battery is probably to low if not empty. Just have to recharge it.

It's essential that you state the exact make and model of your camera.

But in general many are incompatible with regular AA batteries (even heavy duty ones)and instead require that you use NiMh or even Li-ion rechargeablesinstead. The voltage, internal resistance and discharge characteristicsof these are significantly different to regular disposable AA batteriesand so the camera will report "battery empty" prematurely.

"battery empty" on screen after I disconnected camera from compu

Removing the battery only solution during freezing time / the battery out current /inside the camera still have current enough to illuminate the sreen /but all function are disable due to lack of current , If the message flushing battery empty don't wait that the battery will empty causing of screen illumination w/out function the digital camera.

the little icon battery looks empty on the lcd screen? I would not worry about especially if your camera is taking flash pictures and lasting a good while....for my battery indicator on my two different cameras looks half charged and they high amp 2700ma. maybe its going over the mark. try putting in common batteries like duracell and see if it dont return to full indication charge.
