Timing chain timing is off not running

With the key off! grab the crank pulley and turn it back and forth,you will be able to feel the slack in the timing chain.Any excessive play means ,new chain time! If the engine will not run and you think the chain has jumped,move the distributor a few inches one way,then the other.One of the movements should have the engine running,usually,ONLY one more time only,but gets you home sometimes!

Did you grind the cylinder head so your timing chain is longer, You need to change the cylinder head.

A loose timing chain might make more noise but not effect way engine runs IF your timing chain slips u could damage engine Car would run rough Hope to help

I don't know what "timming" or "minic" means, but (from context) I'm assuming you think that you are having some kind of a a TIMING chain problem.
The timing chain simply goes around the crank shaft sprocket and around the cam gear, turning the cam shaft. If it is in place, your vehicle will run. If it breaks, the vehicle will not run. If it is loose, your vehicle may run rough, but there will be an obvious rattling noise coming out of the timing chain cover at the front of the engine, as it moves the tensioner aroundr.
That's about it for a timing chain. There is nothing else to it.

It sounds like the timing chain was replaced one tooth off. The only other option if the timing chain is correct would be to adjust the ignition timing. Since the timing chain was replaced I would think it to be the first problem.

As timing chain accumulate mileage, chain stretch, sprockets wear out and set the valves off timing. Most chains go up to 100000 miles or more, but not always. As a rule when there is more than about half inch of play between the gears on a V6 or V8, it is the time for a new timing chain and sprockets.
It is unusual for a timing chain to accumulate 200000miles, but I remember a car, with broken timing chain with only 160000miles on it.
Signs of worn out timing chains are:
Rough idle.
Sluggish performance and poor economy.
Sudden engine performance change including the inability to start the engine.
Intermittent backfire through the intake manifold.
Inconsistent ignition timing or a clattering noise coming from the front of the engine.
It is a good idea to replace the water pump (coolant pump), and the thermostat while replacing the timing chain.
The cost of the replace of timing chain is at least +$1300, but if is to bad, we pull out engine and replace both guides. In this case might cost more.

I had a timing chain problem, It made a noise for about 3 years and it decided to break last May, the engine just totally stopped. My 99 cavalier had 164,000 miles on it. My friend and I found out the the cavalier 2.2 eng. has a non interfer timing chain. so when my timing chain broke it didn't cause any damage.

If you have a chain, there is NO replacement interval. ALL 4 cylinder Highlanders have timing chains.
