SOURCE: Connecting a polycom

No, i don't think si. The polycom needs an ethernet connection to a router. You might get this working by putting the 3g card into a PC and enabling connection sharing, however even if you got it work itsd a bad solution in terms of:
- Cost
- Reliability
- Security.
ADSL would be better.

Can anyone with a wireless and range extender access our WiFi if we have a password on our router

If your router/network is BT and you accepted to be "a hot spot", others can access your router/wifi, but only a reserved small limit of the bandwidth, and not your password protected part. They certainly can not see or access any of your data being sent or received.
If you have not agreed to being a hot spot, or it is not BT network, it is unlikely that anyone else, with or without an extender can access your router, providing the password is strong enough. Even if they access the router via ip addresses, settings should be protected by your access admin password.

What if I don’t have a smartphone? An I still access data?

The short answer is NO. You need a device capable of accessing the internet, so a smart phone, laptop, tablet, etc is required. You also need to have a device that can connect via a hot spot, so must have inbuilt wifi, or a sim card to access mobile data.

How can i connect my tablet to wifi without a house that dos not have Internet access in county wexford ireland.

Are you trying to just connect to wifi to access a local network or are you trying to access the internet? If you just want to connect to a local network, maybe to access other devices on the network, you would need a router broadcasting the network that all the devices connect to. If you are only trying to get access to the internet, consider purchasing a hot spot device. It will provide cellular type service and will broadcast a wifi signal that you can connect your tablet or other devices to for internet access. Hot spots will cost you a monthly fee for the service and you will have to purchase the device itself. Another possibility is to use your cell phone as a hot spot and tether the tablet to it. Just remember whatever data you use on your tablet will be charged to your data plan on your cell phone. On my nexus 5x phone, it's fairly easy to turn on (settings, under wireless and networks select more, select tethering and portable hotspot, turn on portable wifi hotspot, set a password if you want to). Once turned on, the phone will broadcast a signal that you can connect other devices to for internet access. Some cellular providers don't allow tethering. If that is the case with yours there are some apps that will still allow you to set up tethering such as AndroidTethering or Easy Tether. In the past, I've had some trouble connecting wirelessly using the apps and found that using USB tether options worked better for me.

I have dial up at home. I will be traveling and will need to go to wireless. I am not computer smart. I need step by step instructions on how to do this. I have a C655 laptop

Thank you for using FixYa

Apparently your computer has "wifi" compatablity. Which means that you can connect to a wifi hot spot, like in Starbucks and McDonalds, even most Hotels. That means you will have to stop and find one to connect to. Many have free access but security is always your responsibility. You will need to be within about 30-100 feet to get a reliable signal.

If you want on the go with mobile connectivity you will need to get a "wifi" modem like Verizon or ATT or Sprint provides. Expect to pay around $60 per month. You can get a card that fits in your slot or an external battery operated wifi modem that connects to the cell towers and rebroadcasts to your computer via the wifi 802.11.g/n. If you choose the wifi only you will need to go to your control panel and create a new connection in the wireless section on your computer. The computer should guide you through this procedure,

I hope this was useful and please comment if this was helpful to you.

I have a env touch and i dont have a data package or a texting plan do i need one of those to look at my email on the env touch

Accessing the email via your wireless hand held could be done in different ways. One could need an enterprise data package but the other one does not

1. Access of email via the internet browser of your phone.
2. Access your email via the mail client saved in your phone.

If you're connecting your phone via the access point of hot spot using the WiFi of the phone to gain internet access, then there's no need for you to have an enterprise data plan.

However, if you would like to connect to the internet via your wireless provider, then, you will need the enterprise data plan, so that you could have a reliable internet connection. And you could access your email account.

Email account can be accessible via Web mail or mail client of your phone. If you would like to set the mail client of your phone, you will need to decide whether to create a POP or an IMAP account.

You can also have additional info through your wireless provider.

Thank you and good luck!

Polycom Fx doesn't power on or show any signs of life

Try disconnecting the ISDN module and then cycling the power. If that doesn't work speak to your support provider about repair costs. Ultimately you may need to replace it because of its age (it might be End of Life and not available for repair)
