My son's pen doesn't recognize the books anymore

i would try lens cleaning cd 1st ok might be dirty lens just cant read it if not that try firmware update to the unit thx nick

My daughter's poingo pen stops communicate with the book, can the poingo pen be reset ?

Its probably because the pen doesn't have the stories loaded. The front cover of the book explains by going to mypoingo.com you can download but I haven't had any success finding the downloads.

I have the same problem and am trying to get a hold of them for the problem to be fixed. They keep telling me to clean the lense, or re download the books. The laser light won't even turn on. I can listen to the books just fine!!

The problem is the Laser lens. The lens is dirty or defectives, and cannot focus anymore on the laser beam reflected by the DVD, to read or record the disk.

You can try using a DVD cleaner disk to clean lens. If that does not work, then the lens pickup must be replaced by a technician.

Trying to clean the lens with a Qtip and isopropyl alcohol may also help, but it may also damage the lens furtherly. If cleaner disk does not work, better calling support.
