What software are you using to capture the HD footage? Are you using the supplied software, or another package. It is likely that you have a software incompatibility. i.e. windows will recognise DV natively, but HDV requires specific codecs and software installed on your PC.

Most of the dash cam on the market support recording and saving in segmentation, thus reach loop recording. But there is a BUG. If the processing speed is not rapid, the recording of the next video can only be done after the previous video has been saved, and it is likely to miss seconds. When the dash cam is saved, it stops recording, it is likely to miss the moment of a traffic accident.
