Sounds like a clogged exhaust duct or vent. If not venting properly, most dryers will turn the heat off, for safety reasons.
Go for the easy fix first. Before removing your exhaust ducts from the dryer, look for any kinks that may cause blockage. Clean out the duct of any lint or water that may have accumulated. Check the vent on the outside of the house and make sure that its not clogged and opening properly.

Our kenmore eliite HE4 gas dryer keeps shutting off after a few minutes of running no mattter what heat setting we put it on. On air dry mode it works. Is this a high heat sensor problem? The unit is 4...

You didn't mention if the dryer is getting hot.

If is getting hot, then shutting off, I agree with you.

If it is NOT getting hot, I would suspect the IGNITER ASSY

HE4 model 110.85872400 no heat but runs. Proper voltage at outlet

Check in the back of the unit and make sure that the elements are heating up and glowing red, this is the way that the clothes dry. You will ned to remove the back panel or tilt it up very high so you can see under the dryer

Dryer wont get hot in the am i try it it will wrk for one load then wont get hot same thing for 4 days now

I have a Whirlpool dryer with LP gas, 7 1/2 years old. It will fire up once or twice after started then the next time it is supposed to fire it will make a buzzing sound. No heat. It will not produce heat after this until it sits for awhile then the same thing, will fire once or twice then no more. I replaced the ignitor and this did not solve the problem although it did have a consistent firing for about 3 minutes immediately after I replaced the part. then it started buzzing again and would not fire anymore. The propane line doesn't appear to be the problem either since it will work initially. Also the gas water heater in the house works fine.

Kenmore Elite Heavy Duty King Size Capacity Quiet Pack II Dryer shuts off

If the venting is clogged this will happen. And that is a good thing because it is a safety measure built in to prevent fires. There is a thermostat that can tell when your dryer is over-heating,(usually caused by clogged venting by lint) and this devise tells the heating element to turn off so as not to create a fire. Clean out venting, inspect thermostats and element, replace if neccesary. You may only have to clean out the venting.
