SOURCE: I have a Compaq Presario CQ62. When typing

This typically happens when the typist's palms touch the touchpad, which the pad treats as a mouse click. See if the cursor is jumping to where the pointer is.
Most touchpads have a control panel (usually part of the MOUSE Control Panel) where you can reduce the sensitivity (or disable) the left click function from tapping the touchpad.

Testimonial: "Hey thanks! I hadn't realised I was doing that. Will lift my palms or use an external keyboard in future. "

SOURCE: Hello - I am correcting

Try going to H.P web site and select support or support forum. Once there, they should be able to have a solution for you. Because, I know there is a key that you hit, to prevent auto-correcting. I hope this helps.

Jumping cursor of a

Hi! I think youre probably having a jumping cursor where the cursor jumps from one place to another while typing an email or something. You may got to control panel - hardware - mouse then look for the check box that you can tick on that says "Tap off while typing" and this should fix the problem. Thanks for visiting FixYa.com!

I am having a problem when I type and the cursor moving

This happens when your hands get to close to the palmrest and your wrists are actually causing the cursor to jump to another spot. Go to the control panel > mouse> settings > highlight the touchpad listed and select the settings button. Look through the entries and there is a setting for palmrest sensitivity. Turn down the sensitivity so your hands and wrists don't trigger a cursor movement. The hardware and drivers are fine, this is a setting adjustment.

Cursor jumps around

Does the cursor jump around when your hands are nowhere near the touchpad? The touchpads are heat and pressure sensitive. I personally have very warm (and sometimes sweaty) hands. I have this problem often when working on laptops. If I hover my hands over the pad, it causes the mouse to move. I've had to take a business card, put tape on one side of it, and use it as a flip-cover for the touchpad on most of my laptops. If the cursor moves around when you're nowhere near the laptop, then you may want to try disabling the pointing stick (if it has one). I've had several clients with laptops where the pointing stick mouse control go crazy and move and click on things.
