Logitech USB headset no sound

Hi,

I'm completely hopeless with technology. Please help! My friend gave me a Logitech USB 250 headset. I can't get any sound playing from it. I've contacted Windows and they gave me a driver which didn't help. Logitech says they can't help since my headsets work on XP. I'm really bummed bcuz I've trying to solve this problem for weeks. The weird thing is my laptop can detect the microphone. Just the headphones (under playback devices) aren't detected.

Thanks.

    Hi,

The headset icon isn't there. Is there another way to detect it?

  • ancientemily Nov 11, 2007

    I CANT USE THE HEADSET

Logetech headphones work only sporadically. I can watch a blog broadcast and hear fine with headsets but when I attempt to watch other video, NO sound! I go to the CP, for sound/ volume and find that the Logetech headphones are not present in any of the "SOUNDS" , AUDIO or other options.or settings when 30 minutes ago they were fine now I have only the default and guess what, it is on strike as well. I can't trust it and there is no pattern to it. and have NO clue how to re initiate it. or turn it off.,IF so I will have no hope of making it work. It has become a pain. Sometimes it will work on a site, other times when I click the "GENERAL TAB" it shows there is no sound software for any device. present and offers on lThe "DEFAULT" as the options, So, OK I chose default. No Joy. On a site and displays "LOGETECH HEADSET" in the AUDIO settings, go there an hour later when I find a site with no sound, look back at settings and the "Loge headset is not even present in the sound, audio and other taps. I
computer. I've used this one last week and it was fine, I had it wit thjat ninge. When it isn't, the box says, "NO SOUND: and LOGETECH SOUND IS NOT LISTED AS AN OPTION: and the SETTINGS will provide the default as the other options. Default setting are all that can be loaded, the only option under the drop down menu. the drop down ART. OPTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH SOUND OR more specifically "LOGETEXT. tabs nor is it listed in the downloads options. I call LogiLogetech and guess what do tthey say:? , "IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE THEIR PROBLEM Mm I do nothing to precipitate this game the VOLUME LOGETECHH is playing with me. Yes, all the above is a true and accurate account of a problem. They willing THEY ARE are secure sound on the control wire is on, sound is enabled on the web page but NO sound. IDEAS before I render this set to the sity landfill?

I do not undertand why XP would not simply designate the chosen I/O headset as the top unit for listening and conversing and watching, listening Movie DVDS ETC and when installed, LEAVE IT WHERE IT STOPPED > ITT INS"T HE FEMALE BEAUTY of the sites I miss but the money is waste.

Hi Come so lito. My headphones are F*(&^up as well. I can use the microphone but the sound is hit or miss. I tried going to the run on start button but the Logitech is not there and there aren't any audio services. That really makes me mad. What else can I do besides call Logitech tomorrrow morning and chew their *** out.

My Logitech headset was a dream, but just gave out at random- litterally halfway through a use, no fizzing out on one side before dying. I wouldn't be complaining, since chances are the headset just stopped working (which is irritating, but there's nothing I can do.) However, the headset doesn't have a scratch on it- the cord, or anything, and the mic is still working fine, and my computer is picking it up... everything is working but the audio! I'm using windows vista, and I'm certain that I have the update patch for audio accessories. Help!

Have you tried changing the Audio Device that windows is using?
Under the Sound and Audio Devices in the ontrol Panel. Under the Audio tab, try the Default Device under Sound playback. Change this to the headphones.

The headphones should actually list as a USB AUDIO DEVICE. If the Mic is there, the headphones should be too.

To solve your device sound problem you would need to right click on you speaker icon and choose the playback devices option. If your PC detects your headset then you would right click on it and choose Set as Default Device. This would guaranteed to work for you. Remember to let your PC finishes installing the headset device driver first. Good luck to you!

The voice call in my yahoo maill not wark

make sure in yahoo your logitech headset is selected as the primary sound device and not the primary sound driver.. Alternatly you can go into the windows settings and select the logitech as your primary default playback and recording device. Goto control panel and sound and audio devices. click on the audio tab and select the logitech headset.
if you have the logitech headset selected and yahoo still wont allow the headset to work follow the directions on this webpage http://www.yoingco.com/how_to_set_up_yahoo_messenger_list_webcam_microphone_headphones.htm and it explains how to setup a logitech usb headset step by step

I have a Logitech USB Headset 250. The sound

I personally owned this item, they were great until an inadvertant accident just slightly extended its coord a few days ago, greatly destroying all sound effects other than music. All you have to do to get yours to play sound out of the headset is go into the control panel option. from there, go to Sound. You will find that there are your speakers and your headset if plugged in. All you have to do is right click the headset icon and choose the option "Set as default device" or something to that nature. To be sure they are working properly, right click the icon again and hit the "Test" button, you should hear two jingles, each coming out of a distinguishable earphone. If you find your programs or internet pages not playing sound through your headset at first, simply close them and re-open them. I had the same problem and am now actively searching for my own 2nd pair to replace my poor broken ones =(. I hope my post helped you solve your problem. =)

My friend can't hear my voice.

Check settings on your computer. Specify your operating system (vista/xp). Also check if the mic switch is turned on.

No sound from my Logitech headset when on SKYPE

Maybe you need to select which Audio device you are using within Skype. It the Settings under Audio you should be able to select the default audio device that Skype talks to. If you set it to the USB headset, it might work properly.
