GE Refrig PFS22MISBWW Serial TH052892 The Green "LED" display panel that shows the ref and Freezer temperatures or set points goes blank whenever the fan motor in the bottom freezer comes on. The display works when the fan is off. It works during start-up when the compressor is on, but only until the fan starts. The fan doesn't seem to kick into high speed like it used to, and the fridge seems to be running more. Didn't find any obvious ice buildup. Temps seem to be OK.
Tried rebooting by unplugging it for a while, but no change. I saw a note on the web about a problem they had with the DC fan motor and circuit board that GE was fixing post warranty. Any help would be appreciated. It's less than 2 years old. Thanks,

I have the exact same problem. 2 year old unit.
Apparently, the computer motherboard, which is accessed from the outside back panel of the fridge, was, is designed poorly and fails often. This whole refrigerator is actually a nightmare, and I suggest that anyone who owns one either buy a long term warranty, or sell it before it gets very old. Also, be sure to put a surge protector on it.
For example, all the fan motors work on DC Voltages controlled by the computer. What used to be a $15 generic 115VAC fan motor for the freezer compartment and the coils underneath, can now cost up to $180 each - and if the fan shorts out, it can take the computer with it. On my unit, now the cheap(ly made) plastic bracket between the two bottom drawers has broken - and there's no kids here abusing it. That part will cost about $25 and will break again some day.
