Toyostove Laser 30 has error code EE 22

Call manufacturer or Installer - Direct Vent Furnaces are not a DIY service. Carbon Monoxide is deadly and can easily be emitted if there is something wrong with the heater. Get professional help before anything further is done, as it needs a full inspection for your safety.

EE 22 means it failed to light for 3 tries in a row. You have to unplug the heater for at least 30 minutes to reset this code. I don\'t know how cold it was before, but if this is the first time it has dropped below freezing I would suspect water in the fuel barrel or filter. Check the filter. You can also remove the line from the barrel then open the valve to see if any comes out. Catch what does come out so you can put it back in the barrel. Let me know what you find or if you need more help.

How long is the exhaust pipe on the inside of the house? Is it covered with a cloth sock? The EE 6 is probably from air in the fuel line. I am a little confused by the term "our downstairs heater". Do you have a lifter for the L30?

ee 22 means the heater failed to ignite in 3 consecutive tries. To reset it, unplug the heater for 30 minutes. You need to find out why the heater didn't ignite. First make sure the igniter is good. You can test it with an ohmmeter. It's resistance should be somewhere between 10 and 20 ohms. Sometimes you can tell by feeling the cover at the igniter. It may be hot. Next make sure you are getting fuel. If the fuel pump makes a loud ticking or thumping sound then you are not getting fuel to the pump. Try pressing the red reset button on the right side of the heater at the bottom to see if the float in the fuel sump is latched up. Next there is a strainer in the fuel sump you can check. Turn off the fuel at the barrel before attempting to check the strainer. If you have a filter at your oil tank you can check it too. Let me know if you need more suggestions.

EE 2 has several possible causes.
1. Fuel problem
2. Dirty flame rod
3. Bad igniter
4. Circuit board
If the fuel pump makes a loud ticking or thumping sound, you have a fuel problem. The pump makes this sound because no fuel is getting to it. This can be cause by a dirty filter at your tank, a dirty fuel strainer in the fuel sump, you are out of fuel, or have an air bubble in the fuel line.
If the flame rod is dirty, the heater will light then go out after about a minute.
If the igniter is bad the igniter will not light at all. You can test the igniter with an ohmmeter. The resistance reading should be around 17.2 ohms. I usually just use a clamp on ammeter and see if the igniter is drawing any amps when it is starting. If it is, it is good.
You can check for voltage where the igniter connects to the circuit board. It should be 120vac. If not your circuit board could be bad.

The screen for the circulating fan has lint on it. Remove it from the back top panel and wipe it off. The lint keeps the air from be able to blow over the stove and it overheats.

Could be water in your barrel. Did you replace the filter? It can freeze and block the fuel flow. Check the strainer in the fuel sump. Is your code EE 6 or EE 2. Depending on the code you may need to clean the flame rod.

rinnai is one brand name. toyostove and toyotomi are the same but different brand names. error is ee-14 - flame sense lockout.

The EE-8 indication means there is insufficient air flow to the combustion pot to atomize and ignite the fuel. Check your air switch for a closed condition when the blower is operating.

EE22 is a lock out code that keeps you from continuing to try to start the heater. This code usually pops up as the result of a problem with the fuel supply (i.e. no fuel, fuel sys obstruction, clogged filter, water frozen in line, faulty igniter), but could be more serious. To clear the code the easy way, unplug heater for at least 30 minutes. While you are waiting, check your fuel tank to see if you have fuel. Then check filter to make sure the element is not clogged and that there is no air or water (or ice) in the fuel line. If you find a problem with any of these things, correct it before trying to start heater again.
