Skypeout on LG shine

Only my skype contacts show up... no skypeout contacts, there's no way to just dial a number. Is the LG Skype mobile app limited to only skype contacts?

Instead of using Skype on your phone you may want to consider downloading Nimbuzz. It works just like Skype - is free to use - and seems to have better results.

It combines all your friends and family from Skype, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AIM, Google Talk and more.

To get Nimbuzz simply go to this link and type in your phone number and the program will automatically be sent to your phone.

Nimbuzz, click here: http://tiny.cc/jYC6s

I need to download skype

HI...........................

Skype is a popular, easy to use and reliable VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) program, that allows you call and talk to other Skype users, video chat and more for free over the internet.
With Skype you can not only have voice chats on your computer - just like telephone, only for free - but also make real phone calls at much lower rates, using the SkypeOut service and paying with Skype credit. Besides voice chats, Skype also includes standard IM functionalities (written conversations, emoticons, user avatars and so on) and also lets you have group video conferences.

Improved video interface These video calls are precisely the main focus on Skype's latest version. The program's interface has been completely redesigned with video conferences on mind. This means it's been made wider so that video fits in perfectly with your written chat, your contact list and a toolbar to manage conversation. The new interface is transformed when you make a call, getting rid of all the clutter, so you just see the video images, and controls. Group video is still being tested in this version, and it's pretty cool.
The sound quality during our testing was perfect: loud and clear. Video sometimes appeared a bit pixelated, but nothing we couldn't really deal with. There was also one nice detail, and that's the ability to see your own video image built-in on your contact's video, and the option to take a snapshot of your own image.

Facebook integration The other major development is Facebook integration. This is a pretty big thing, as not only does it give you your news feed in the app - anyone can do that - but adds call and sms buttons to any of your friends who share their contact numbers. If you've paid for Skype minutes, you can call your Facebook friends, and if they're also signed in to Skype you can call them for free. One of the best new features is the automatic call recovery - drop a call and it's put in pause. Restarting it is now really easy.
Skype 5 features a complete interface overhaul that now focuses more on video chats, and also adds some handy improvements to the way you communicate online.
Pros
  • Easy to use
  • Sharp videoconferencing mode
  • Keeps records of all your calls
  • Lots of features to improve your chat experience
  • Great sound quality in voice calls
  • Support for embedded local video on target video
Cons
  • The new interface is huge

How do i use skype?

Skype is a great way to communicate.. I prefer it over other programs as it better suits a traveling person.
  1. Open a Skype Account. Go to www.skype.com
  2. (Computer->Computer) Search for your friends online. Add them by (Contacts / Add Contact). This is a free service
  3. (Computer->Phone). This is called SKYPE OUT. You can dial any fixed or mobile phone anywhere around the world if you add credit in your SKYPEOUT account (go to www.skypeout.com). Paypal and Credit card are supported. You can either add 10 EURO or 25 EURO at one time. Calls are cheap (depending on country), and are relatively comparable to IP cards. Remember to dial the country prefix!
  4. (Phone->Computer). This is called SKYPE IN. This is a VERY convenient service. SKYPE IN (www.skypein.com)allows you to reserve a phone number in a country of choice. The cost is 30 EURO a year, or 10 EURO for 3 months. This allows you to hand out a local number to friends / work collegues in a different country (so they are charged only a local call), and when they call you, your SKYPE on your computer will ring (no matter where you are in the world!). This is handy if you want to have a number on your business card for a country that you do not reside. The only cost to you is the yearly rental of the number, and the caller is charged a normal phone call charge.
Things You'll Need:
  • You'll need a Headset with a Microphone. The best to use is a set with the TWO plugs (microphone and speaker). Avoid the USB type headset (these can be painful when trying to remove the device). Th
  • You'll also need a Credit Card if you want to use SKYPEIN or SKYPEOUT
  • A computer! Preferably a newer computer with a better-than-modem connection.
  • Optional - WebCam. Version 2.0 and later supports video. Although not particularly flash - its still pretty cool (remember you'll need a fast internet connection for video)

I want to connect my cell phone to skype

Hi,
Visit skype's website or see the settings of your skype messenger. Through this you can acquire some information which you can use to fully apply the settings you want for.
Skype for your Mobile Phone.

* Make and receive Skype calls on your mobile*

* Sign in and see who's online

* Make low cost international calls to any phone number with SkypeOut*

* Chat - available on select handsets
--
* All the rules and restrictions of your individual mobile provider still apply, including charges for local calls, data service and roaming. You should not use this service while roaming. SkypeOut calls require Skype credit, available for purchase at www.skype.com.

I would like some information on skype and how it functions. what features do I need on my PC to be able to use skype?

Skype
Skype is an IP telephony service provider that offers free calling between computers and low-cost calling to regular telephones that aren't connected to the Internet. Included in the free service is a softphone application that can be downloaded to any laptop or desktop computer, or other computing device running Windows, Macintosh, Linux, or Windows Mobile operating systems. A function called SkypeOut enables calls to regular telephones; these calls are charged to a prepaid account or to a flat-fee annual subscription.

You need a microphone and DSL or better Internet service for your computer.

Lost contacts on my Philips VOIP Skype phone

I had this same problem... If you use Microsoft Outlook for emails, then this might be the solution: Open Skype and click on View, and untick the 'Show Outlook Contacts'. Hopefully this will cull the list of contacts and will enable the Philips voip phone to view contacts again... Perhaps it's because the Outlook contacts are vCards - something which the Philips phone can't recognise?

Binatone S1545 Skype USB wireless Phone

Found out by searching on the Net and reading other peoples problems with this phone, that you can only make a "Skype" call from the handset using numbers that are in the "skype" address book on the computer. The address book in the phone can only be used for making "landline" calls. There is no mention of this in the user manual/instructions book.

In view of the fact that you didn't help me solve this problem I don't think you should debit my Paypal account.

Thanking you.
