My fridge is not cold though the compressor is running.

My Amana side-by-side model SSD522SBW is not cold. The compressor is still running but there's no evaporation. I think the fan is not running. Is this the only possible fault or any other. If it's the fan, how and can I replace it and where to buy the spares. Thanks in advance. Regards, Osmond

If any fans stop cooling stops. The fan inside the freezer will need to be examined for why it stopped or if the one below is stopped it to will need to be checked. I think your defrost timer is on the front of your refrigerator on floor behind the kick plate. If you can turn the timer clockwise until refrigerator starts or stops that may tell us the reason for these failures. Place your model in the model search feature below and choose one of many the same models. Look inside back of freezer wall after you unplug refrigerator and tell me if fan is stopped and if coils have ice or snow covering them. Then we will go from there.Click link below. A amana French door fridge no fan water or.icemaker lights come on but no fan turning on or cold

Many Amana model fridges have the freezer fan wired through the bi-metal thermostat that is clipped to the evaporator. Either your compressor has a bad start device and that is why it is not cooling, or the compressor IS running and the unit has lost its refrigerant charge. Running compressor with no cooling = buy a new fridge.
Compressor hot, but not running = start relay replacement to get the compressor going. Start Device 8201786

Amana side by side, buzzing, no fan in fridge.

that sound is the relay/overload. it is trying to start the compressor. the problem is either that relay or the compressor itself

Amana freezer is cold, fridge is not.

You will be able to hear it when you open the freezer door and hold the door switch in.It is located behind the rear panel inside the freezer. The fan should be running when the compressor is running. If it is running make sure the damper(vent) to the fridge side is not blocked by ice and that the damper door is open.

Amana side by side fridge and freezer not cold. The model #ASD2624HES I have done some research and I think it might be the relay switch or the compresser. If anyone had has this problem with this model...

. Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay.
Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm

Part 4 on this diagram is your relay. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=ASD2624HES&productCategoryId=0165000&brandId=1268&modelName=AMANA-REFRIGERATION&diagramPageId=00013&componentDescription=COMPRESSOR&documentId=M0608085&backToLink=Return%20to%20subcomponent%20list Here's how you can check it. http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/refrigerator.php

Amana fridge/freezer compressor problem

Unplug unit.

It's not possible to tell which without replacing the starting system. Hard start kit would be fine. RCO410 is common. If it starts the unit the next check would be an ampmeter clamped onto one of the power leads. The ampmeter for refrigerators of that age may read around 2-5 amps when running. If it's much higher than 5 Amps after it's running be prepared to replace the compressor. Maybe it won't quit today...but it won't last with high amperage. If it doesn't start with this kit you need compressor.

Neither Freezer nor refrig is cooling

Pull the compressor side cover off. Pry off the square box. This is your compressor start relay. Check for continuity. It's probably blown. If ok check for voltage to the compressor.
