If your machine is stopping with flashing lights or a error code on the ... Lights on Washing Machine How to Repair Hotpoint,Ariston, Indesit ...
Find the error code on the web so you know what the washer is complaining about (Google it). Because the washer drains water does not mean the filter is not clogged. Remove the filter and clean it to be sure.
The error code will point you to the requisite corrective action. An error does not necessarily imply failure, but it usually means just that.
Until you know what the washer thinks is wrong, you have little chance of correcting it.
The flashing light means that the machine thinks the door is not closed (The door lock switch is not activating). 99% of the time this is simply a sticky switch and the solution is to give the door a good firm slam shut (Don't get silly here, but it will take a pretty good "teenager slamming the bedroom door in a temper tantrum" type slam).
In the event that this doesn't work, then you're looking at a faulty door interlock switch. They're not that hard to obtain or fit if you're fairly confident. Drop me a comment back here and let me know how you get on. Happy to help further if the above hasn't allowed you to solve the problem.
I think its anti clock to remove however it will have loctite on it ..Try heating the screw 1st this will break down glue, carefull not to burn surrounding area
