I used a Bostitch sb-1850 BN nail gun which came with an initial supply of 1 1/4" 32MM brad strip nails. After using these up, I could only find Bostich 1 1/4" 31MM brad strip nails which I thought would work just fine.
Result: "Gun has required pressure to fire, but bent the nail in the load chamber. After removing the bent nail, attempted again and nail fired into wood surface, but not with enough pressure to countersink, with nail sticking out by about a quarter inch. The next nail fired wouldn't release into surface at all, and gun behaves as if not enough pressure is built up, although pressure gauge indicates otherwise. Appreciate anything you can tell me. Hello. I can help you. The nail gun you have uses 18 gauge brads. I would use only original Bostitch 18 gauge.
The one MM of difference you mention is the reason why you do not have the pressure you did have. Get rid of those 31MM brads and get the 18 gauge. Home Depot carries the Bostitch line. I would go there or to homedepot.com

nails generally set 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch above surface of wood making it as good as a paper weight.
