Lg recorder rh397d

You need to connect it to a TV to set it up. A wizard will then guide you from there.

You get the User Manual from LG. If you don't have one.

Can't play USB MP4 on LG RH397D

The LG RH397D only supports MP3/WMA/JPEG/DivX image and audio files from a USB drive. There is no firmware update that changes the supported file types. You will need to convert the MP4 to a supported format. The manual for the RH397D is available from LG: http://www.lg.com/au/support-product/lg-RH397D# /

I wish that I had better news for you.

I have an lg RH397D dvd recorder - the lcd just says Hello over and over and will not turn on.

You need to replace faulty cheap capacitors on the power supply board (one or two will be bulging on the top, with or without a brown exudate; see picture). This costs only a couple of dollars, or you can replace the power supply board for about $50.

Hi i have an lg rh397d and the hello lcd just keeps playing but unit wont turm on?

There is a bad capacitor in the power supply that controls the 12V going to the HDD and DVD player. When you turn it on, the 12v drops to 7 volts and the unit turns it self back off. You just get the "hello" message briefly. You need to replace the part (1000uf, 25v), it's probably showing signs of bursting at the top or bulging.I noticed this in a 397d that came to me from a relative. I've just replaced this part in it and it's come good again.See bad caps at www.badcaps.net for why this happens.

Cannot playback dvd-r on lg rh397d after recording from hdd. message is 'cannot playback due to navigation error' please help

When you burn a DVD, it is ONLY playable in the RH397D.
Buggy menus - and no way to flash the firmware.
Terribly designed remote.
HDD never seems to spin down, no matter how long it sits.
Doesn't play XVid.

I was a bit disappointed with this product. It does do, what is listed on the box, and one can't be too disappointed with that.

I need to unlock the regional code on my DVD player

The code I found from a trusted website says:
  1. Press SETUP
  2. Scroll down to the padlock icon
  3. Press 0 seven times
    • Confirmation message appears
  4. Press ENTER
Which sounds like what you're doing already. This is for RH399D. RH397D may be different.
