Your WII is having trouble reading disks? Try using a dvd/cd ROM cleaner disk. Run the cleaning disk in the WII a couple of times and try inserting your game again. If it still does not read the disk, try cleaning the game disk itself with a lint free cloth and alcohol. make sure to dry the disk completely and never wipe in a circle. If this does not solve the issue, try playing the disk in another WII to figure out if the problem is isolated to the disk itself. If the disk plays in another WII, then contact the manufacturer and send the console in for repair.
My PS3 stopped reading my PS3 games last month, but it was still able to read DVDs. I looked it up online and learned that it usually happens when you smoke a lot around your PS3 while it is running and a film builds up on your blu-ray lens. I followed this YouTube video and had it playing my games again fine. Hope this helps.
the disk drive could be going bad. or the laser it self could be out of place. you could go to a tech store. I know there is a microcenter were i live that does this kind of thing.
there might be 2 things wrong with it. 1 the laser is broken or not working right. and 2 the code files that are supposed to read the disk are corrupted either way if you still have warranty on it i would go back and get a new one as long as its not your fault there would be no problem replacing it
If it is not reading games, movies, or any sort of disk at all all it does is show the "reading disk" sign on the top right hand corner it most likely means that your blue ray reader died. That happened to me, i had to contact Sony to get it repaired. Of course i before hand i would recommend you to turn off system for a while, make sure disk is clean, and retry.
hey guys. the problem is that the blue ray reader is some how broken and it won't work. mine kept freezing during games like after 3 mins. and it wouldnt read any more discs for that day. you need to change the blue ray reader and that costs about 175$. thats alot of money and its probably not worth it.
Can you be any more specific? is this a problem with one disk, one type of disk or all disks? What is the exact error you are getting? Are you trying to play a game, play a film, play an audio CD or are you using your PS3 as a Linux computer and trying to open a data disk? have you tried more than one disk?
Without specifics there's just no way to guess what the problem is.
