I can't find suitable driver for my sound device

1st. go the Device Manager (in case you don't know how--click start, then click control panel, then click on System & Security -- I'm assuming you have Windows Vista or 7)-- and listed will be the Device Manager then click here, click on the triangle arrow next to Sound and it should expand giving you information on the system, right click on this information, then click on properties, then you will see where it say Update driver, click here hoping that Windows will auto download updated version)

If this doesn't work, then right click the sound information again, click on properties, click on driver (at this point sometimes the name and model or version number is displayed then write this information down for later use), if no information is displayed then click on driver page and get the information needed.

With this information go the Acer webpage, then support, then drivers & downloads, then click on sound, try to match the info of your computer once you've done this you can download the driver. Sometimes after downloading the driver you may have to open the driver file and open the .exe file or set up file in it to get it started (hopefully you won't have to do this). Hope this helps.

If you don't know the vendor of your sound card, Speccy (freeware) should be able to help you find the model number, then you can use that model number to find the correct device driver download.

Asus Notebooks have many versions in Audio/Sound drivers so its better to find the actual hardware that is available on you system. Please follow below mentioned steps to find the hardware.

Step 1: Click on Start and Click on Run.
Step 2: Type msinfo32 to launch system information.
Step3: Under system Summary (towards the left hand side) expand Components.
Step4: Left click once on Sound Devices.
Step 5: Towards the right hand side you would see Name and Manufacturer of your Sound Card.
Step 6: Use the link http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us to install the suitable driver.

Let me know the Name and Manufacturer if you are unable to find the driver.

the sound drivers are not the same for all models or operation system ...so ..in order to get the correct one you need to search by the make and model ...and operation system ..for ex...if you have a Hp computer ..just type in google ..<Hp support >..get into the site ..and select the drivers and software ...and after that the device...than the model ...number ..and when you identified the device ...select the suitable operation system ...and download....In this way you are sure to have the correct driver ..
If you can not get by with this ..just let me know the computer's name (and model) and operation system you use..and I will try to identify the driver for you ..
If you have a custom made unit ...and you do not know the name ..use this software to identify the sound card ...or mother board on the system ...
