Copying programs from DirectTV DVR to DVD

Recorded movies played fine on my DVD recorder and DVD player. All of a sudden, movies I've since recorded on DVD recorder will not play on any other DVD player. They cut off midway through program.

Is it possible to record DVD of a already recorded sattelite program

I spoke to someone who recorded more than 2,000 movies from Dish Network with no problems both directly and from the DVR without a problem. Unless DirectTv uses some sort of copy guard technology, you shouldn't have a problem either. I'll tell you like I told the guy at the flea market, it's ******* to record copyrighted material but between you, me and the fence post, even though it's still ******* even if you don't make money from it or copying for your own use, as long as you don't sell it, they're not going to spend a lot of resources to hunt you down. It's mainly the big time for profit bootleggers that they're after. Be careful.

Why doesn't my recorded dvd-r movies play on my magnavox dvd player

Does your DVD player support that version of DVD disk? Not all players will handle DVD-R. Check the manual for compatibility.
Try recording to DVD+R then see if your player will play it.
Also, in what format (.avi, .flv, .mov, etc.) was the item recorded and is your player able to handle that format? Again, check the manual for compatibility.

I have heard of this problem before check out your user guide or you can go to this web site and type in your model number and it should give you an online manual. The website is: http://www.funai-corp.com/support/manuals.aspx, try it out hopefully it works.

Recorded dvd's won't play in another dvr

The problem is not the dvds themselfs it is the other play that you are trying to play them in (some players do not play DVD- and DVD+ or any other of self recorded disks) Look on the players box to see all what types of disks it can play!

Cyberhome DVR 1600 DVD

What format are you recording in?If the recorder is set for DVD +R, and your playback machine won't read the disc, you may need to record on a DVD-R, or a DVD +-R. Or vice-versa. Some DVDRW discs will record on one machine and won't play on another. The media are incompatible. Another problem - if you are copying a copy-protected disc, it might not play back either. Are you sure you are finalizing the disc? This process takes 4-5 minutes and requires two or three responses sometime.

Copying recorded footage from the DWD490RE without DirectTV Service.

Make sure the cables that used to run from the satellite are still connected even though u dont have directv, the unit will still download any software updates it needs. if the dish is no longer available, wait until the dvr is trying to aquire satellite info before u hit the menu button. it will allow u to watch saved recordings while it searches for a signal. Also you can plug a dvd recorder to the unit and transfer recordings to dvd

Recording to DVD recorder

I know you can copy to the VCR. but do not know if digital recording has any form of copyright protection. You can try to copy by connecting the outputs of the DVD TV to the inputs of the DVD player recorder.
