if you are refering to the convetion fan with the heater around it. then you could have a bad convetion heating element or the relay on the control board could be bad or a burnt off wire.
The symptoms you describe are an indication that the fan motor is in imminent danger of breaking down altogether.
You need to replace it as soon as possibe, otherwise you will end up with the element burning itself out, thus doubling the cost of repair.

I
make sure the fan is working o/k, because if it is not, then the element will get bright red hot.
If the fan is working o/k, then the element will still get red hot, but not bright red.
If the fan is not working, then it needs replacing.
element should glow dull red when on fan oven but not bright red. are you sure fan is operating? remember there are two fans - oven fan and casing fan and you may be listening to casing fan
Most modern
gas ovens and many broilers use a "glow-bar" style of igniter that
glows red-hot to ignite the gas. If the igniter doesn't reach the
proper temperature, the gas valve won't open. You may need to replace
the igniter.
