Tom Tom One 3rd edition. Tried the reset button tried holding the on button for 20secs,let it discharge and charge again but will not start up. It appears to be trying but the screne keeps flashing.
You will probably find that your internal BATTERY is now well past "its useful lifetime" [around 2 -3 years plus]. The same thing [and symptoms] happened with my 10 year old TOMTOM OneXL.
I was quoted $80.00 [by TT here in Australia] to possibly fix it + the cost of the battery ???
SO I purchased a new TT Via 280 with LIFE-TIME FREE MAPS for just over AU $240.00 ... Works GREAT and better maps as well !!!

I had some problems with the 920. It started to not turn on. The it just died completely. After opening the case and testing the battery. I concluded the battery was dead and Un-chargable.
Which is most likely the case with yours.
Try this first. Then contact customer support.
Charge your device for at least 2 hours before trying to turn it on again. Make sure the charging light on your device is on.
If your device uses an SD card, remove it.
Use a straightened paper clip, or something similar, to push the reset button for 15 seconds. See the pictures below for where to find the reset button.
Press the On/off button for at least 5 seconds.
If your device uses an SD card, insert the SD card
Unless you are good with electronics. Then id change the battery myself. I used a cell phone battery.
It has worked for the last year.
Regards and I hope this helped.
