Doesn't show mp3 files on micro sd card

The Kyocera M2000 X-tc has a media player. I can't get it to play mp3 files. I have tried two different ways to load info. on the micro sd card. First, I tried syncing using windows media player then I tried to drag & drop into the my music folder on the card. The files are on the card but the X-tc doesn't show them. Any ideas?

First you should have already saved MP.3 music to your music file in your computer. From what I understand the Kyocera X-TC will only play MP3 format.

Here's what I did.

First you'll need the following items:
1 Micro SD disk
1 adapter to hold the Micro SD disk
1 card reader - You insert the adapter into the Card Reader then connect the reader to a USB port in your computer and download the music from your computer to the Micro SD drive. I purchased a great 12-n-1 Iogear Card Reader from Walmart.com for under $15.00

Steps to formatting the Micro SD and downloading music to the Micro SD disk:

First: Remove the battery from your Kyocera X-TC for 30 seconds

Second: Put the battery back into the phone and PUT THE MICRO SD DISK IN THE PHONE and turn on the phone

Third: The phone will automatically recognize the Micro SD disc and a message will appear "Your disc is not formatted. Would you like to format this disc" and of you would of course choose "Yes".

Fourth: After the Micro SD disc is formatted, place the Micro SD into your Micro Adapter, then place the micro adapter in your card reader and plug the reader into the USB port in your computer.

Five: After you plug your card reader into the USB port your computer will open up the Micro SD disc in a drive like drive I: and you'll find that that drive has two files a Music file and a Picture file.

Six: Then you open up the file on YOUR COMPUTER WHERE YOU SAVED MUSIC in MP3 FORMAT

Seven: Then right click and highlight on all the MP3 songs you want to save to your Micro SD disc and choose COPY

Eight: Then return to the drive where your Micro SD disc is and PASTE THE SONGS TO MUSIC FILE IN THE MICRO SD DISC, and that’s it. From here you just put the Micro SD disc into your phone and watch the songs upload. Hope this helps!

You have to drag and drop only the MP3 files into the music folder. If you have them organized and in folder by artist, drag only the MP3s into the card's Music folder.

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time of day you are viewing this solution post. Thank you for choosing me to give my opinion about your situation. So what you are saying is that one month ago you bought a Coby MP828 MP4 player, but wanted to upgrade the memory, so you bought an 8GB Micro SD card. You can transfer music properly, but can't access files from the media player. Your memory device is shown but you can't create a playlist? Well Faizal, we need to first troubleshoot where the root of the problem is coming from, then find a way to solve it. I researched your device's technical specifications and have come up with some possible causes to the problem. The first possible cause could be the type of SD card you are using; the second possible cause is the type of file format you are using to save your files. I compared the Micro SD card and the Mini SD card and the differences between the two do not affect its compatability to the device, so it looks like you can use either one. You could obtain a mini SD card to see if that does the trick, but I don't think it'll make a difference. So it must be the type of file format you are using. The Coby MP828 MP4 player supports MP3, WAV, FLAC, ACC & WMA audio formats. If you are using something different than the formats shown above, that may be the reason why you can't upload your files. Another possible reason could be firmware or software. Your device doesn't offer any firmware updates, but you could try re-installing the Coby Media Manager software to see if that makes a difference. Since you wanted my opinion, I think the second possible cause (that being the file format) is why you can't make a playlist. I don't really know what else to offer you, but I hope this solution helps.

Can a micro sd card work on this mp3 player?

No, it doesn't support "micro sd card. It only supports "SD card".

To know the difference between different types of SD cards, see the following image...

I hope you found the above info useful.

TRYING TO LOAD MUSIC FROM MEMORY CARD TO MY MUSIC

You have to put your Micro-SD Card in a Card Reader and plug it into your PC (I have a USB Adapter that came with the Micro-SD Card).

Once you can see the Micro-SD card on your PC, then just drag and drop .mp3 tracks (Not .wma) into the "My Music" folder that was created when you "Formatted" the Card using the Phone Menu.

Note: You CANNOT put your Music into folders within this folder, for some reason the phone will not see them. They must ALL be in the root folder "My Music"

My sansa player does not recognize a micro sd when its inserted

Sorry, it doesn't work that way. You can use a separate card reader to put files onto the microSD card. When the card is installed into the Sansa, the Sansa will see the additional music.

SD card in MP3 player

Was the SD card in the MP3 player when you loaded the songs or did you load them some other way?  You may have to first put the SD card in the MP3 player first, then load the songs onto the player.
