1. The HDD password cannot be removed using Security Assist.
2. Using SETUP BIOS (i.e. start machine; Hold Esc; Press F1), Tab to the HDD Password section which should be displayed as follows:
HDD Password
HDD = Built-in HDD
HDD Password Mode = USER Only
User Password = Registered
3. Tab to the "User Password" field and simply enter the old password and then a new one twice (once to verify) as one would do normally. If you don't want a password, just press "enter" twice.

Hope above steps helps you. :)

Toshiba nb505 the screen says enter built in hdd/ssd user password

Somehow, the HDD password has been set. Unless you can remember it, you MAY need to replace the HDD to get around this. I have 'bricked' an HDD in the past in this way.

There is a company on the Web that, for a fee, will help you break that password. The fee depends on the size of the drive. However, to get access again, the HDD will have to removed and reinstalled into an empty SATA/IDE port on a 32-bit desktop so their online server can remove the password. Might be easier just replacing the drive...

What's your problem?how to remove bios/hdd password in toshiba satellite A305-s6905

Read the manual.

Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "ToshibaSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Look for manuals and search them for Bios Password.

How to unlock toshiba satellite laptop BIOS and HDD

If you are the original owner Toshiba will reset the bios for a fee and it is not cheap, they may include the HDD reset, if not! www.ebay.com type password, or hard drive password. I would check bios password, probably a lot cheaper if you can find the right seller, also check www.download.com some software may be free.

I forgot hdd password how to unlock

Toshiba highly recommends the customer to fully understand what HDD Password is and once registered please keep your "PASSWORD" in a safe place.Your HDD password is different from your BIOS Password. Your BIOS Password is stored in the computer, but your HDD Password is stored in the HDD unit itself. So even the HDD unit is removed from one computer and attached to another, the HDD password is required to access it.If you forget your HDD User Password, TOSHIBA will NOT be able to assist you, and your HDD will be rendered COMPLETELY and PERMANENTLY INOPERABLE. TOSHIBA will NOT be held responsible for any loss of data, any loss of use or access to your HDD, or for any other losses to you or any other person or organization resulting from the loss of access to your HDD. http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB6B01MC000CR01.htm

Will not except my boot password

if it is not accepting your boot password, make sure your password is typed correctly hence no caps or caps num lock or no num lock etc.

If you have tried all that and failed, reset the cmos by removing the battery on the motherboard and leaving it out for atleast a minute to be safe. Place it back in and start the computer up. Everything should be reset to manufactures default and password should be removed. Please do not try this if your not technically trained or certified in this field.

Hdd password

If it's an HDD password they are very difficult to remove. Most Data Recovery places charge 200 to remove them. You can try contacting Toshiba to see if they can help.

If you tell them that you have never installed an HDD password they might fix it for free ;)
