If you mean the standard deviation, there are two shifted keys on the third row marked with a lower-case Greek sigma. sigma_xn is the population standard deviation and sigma_xn-1 is the sample standard deviation.

SOURCE: TI-30xa Calculator Reciprocal Key

It does. For instance, to get the reciprocal of 4, enter the following sequence: 4 [1/x] (this last key to be found third row down, second black key in). The decimal 0.25 will appear as the result. Convert this, if you want, to the fraction 1/4 by pressing the yellow function key [2nd], then {F<>D] located bottom, far left. Hope that's what you wanted!

SOURCE: how to get the square root using a ti-30xa calculator?

Come on now....there are dedicated "square" and "square root" keys on the TI-30XA....

Enter your number e.g. 4, then press the "root x" key to get 2...

Press "x squared" key to get the square of 2 = 4

There's the even more useful "y to the power x" key and it's inverse "xth root of y" key.

E.g. Enter 2, then press the "y to the power x" key, then 5, then =, answer is 32 (2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2). Starting with 32, pres 2nd then the "y to the power x" key, then 5, then =, answer is 2, the 5th root of 32....

SOURCE: cant get M2 off of my TI-30XA calculator

Remove the six screws on the back cover. After the batteries are installed you need to reset the board. There is a little reset area that needs to be shorted to get the calculator back to normal. Look closely at the circuit board- You'll see a little circle next to the word reset. Its near the middle of the board. Wet your finger- press it on the circle. It should short. Blow it dry with your breath. It should work...

SOURCE: Inputing scientific notation into my calculator

Hello,

1. To convert a number to scientific equation, use [2nd][Sci]
Exemples 12345 [=] screen shows 12345 Then [2nd][Sci] coverts it to 1.2345 ^04 to the power 4.
2. To enter directly a number in scientific notation (e.g. -1.2345 X10^(-65) a very small number) you use the [EE] key 1.2345[+ /-][EE][+/-]65 shows as -1.2345 -65
1.6X10^(-19) 1.6[EE][+/-]19 shows as 1.6 -19

Hope it helps

Can i do sigma notation on a ti-30xa calculator?

No. There are some keys on the TI-30XA that may make you think so, but they are statistical operations. For example, you can enter values using the Sigma+ key and the TI-30XA can give you the sum of the values entered, sum of the squares, mean value, standard deviation and so on.

You cannot do calculations like "Give me the sum of all integers from 1 to 100" with the TI-30XA, you'd need a far more sophisticated calculator.

I dont know how to do regression lines on my TI-30XA

You can't, the TI-30XA is a one variable statistical calculator, so you can't do two variable statistics with it.

You need to step up to the TI-35X or the TI-30X IIS
