SOURCE: I need a printable manual for an edu science mobile telescope.

Very had to find a manual for these small telescopes--

Meade telescopes a large manufacturer, maintains a web site with manuals for all of their telescopes. Look through the ones on this web site and download the manual that most closely matches your telescope.

http://www.meade.com/manuals/index.html

maybe this manual???

SOURCE: edu science reflector telescope instructions 600x

This is a small refractor telescope-- they pretty much all work the same-- BUT don't expect to get more than 100 power out of the scope. Yes I know the box said 600 power but it's a lie. In my 8 inch telescope I rarely get above 250 power and my scope is many times larger than the one you have--

Now put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the telescope-- the LARGER the number the LOWER the magnification. During the day time practice focusing on a distant object --- AND line-up the small finder scope on top with the main telescope tube. Look at the top of a distant light or church steple, or telephone pole. Without moving the telescope adjust the small finder scope by loosening and tightening the screws around the tube holding the finder scope-- put the crosshairs on the same spot as the main telescope.

Now you can use the small finder to locate objects in the sky-- the moon should be your first night time target.

SOURCE: when I look through the telescope all I see is black

Basics first - please don't get angry at the suggestions ......

1) On the main telescope, can you see the actual glass lenses at both ends of it (i.e. you've removed both of the lens caps).

2) If you remove the eyepiece (in broad daylight), can you hold it up to an indoor light and see clearly through it?

3) If you now look into the socket where the eyepiece goes, can you see any form of light (in daylight) or is it totally black?

A lot of smaller telescopes have caps both ends, and sometimes caps both ends of both parts, to stop debris getting in when in transit or swapping objectives.

SOURCE: manual for an edu science telescope F=700mm

You will not find a manual for that telescope which is sold by Toys R Us. However Meade and Bushnell both maintain web sites with all of their telescope manuals--- here:

http://www.meade.com/manuals/index.html Meade manuals

http://www.opticsplanet.net/bushnell-warranty.html Bushnell

Look around the web sites under the REFRACTOR heading for one that is similar to your telescope. They all assemble and are used the same way.

DO NOT buy an Edu Science telescope. We receive many complains on these scopes.

Try this web site for a nice small Dobsonian style telescope, like this one.

I have a edu science 70mm Astro-Gazer. I lost the manual and forgot how to use it. I have 4mm and 20mm lens and I can see moon via 20mm lense. But how can I use 4mm or 3X part to magnify the view ? Thanks!

That little scope will NEVER be able to use the 4mm with the 3xbarlow, just too mmuch magnification. The maximum possible magnification for ANY telescope is about 50 times aperture.

Your scope is about 3 inches so 150 power is the maximum.

I bought a 102mm Astro-Nova Telescope. Why cant I see anything?

Why did you buy a telescope being sold by TOYS R US!

We get more complaints on this scope than any other brand.

Read the negative reviews here:

Next time buy from a regular telescope retailer like this one:

Can you take it back?

You can buy a small camera tripod which may work IF you attach the telescope tube to the tripod.

We just set up edu science astro nova but we can't seem to get it to work. Do we need to unscrew the back out?

Sure wish you had not bought that telescope. It has the same aperture as a pair of binoculars, 10x50mm, the binoculars would have been better.

Take the lens cap off=

Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the telescope, and go outside during the day time and practice focusing on a distant object.

Can't see out of eye piece

This is a reflector style telescope. The MIRROR is in the base! Light enters the front near the focuser and goes down the tube and bounces off the mirror and back to the front and through the eyepiece. The EYEPIECE end is pointed up.

Your scope TUBE should look like the reflector telescope on this web page:

http://www.amazon.com/Edu-Science-Astro-Nova-102-Telescope/dp/B001NLOQN2

Wish you had NOT bought this telescope. For about the same price you could have bought this:
http://www.telescope.com/control/product/~category_id=classicdobs/~pcategory=dobsonians/~product_id=08942

The scope above has a 6 inch mirror which is almost twice the size of the scope you bought.
