DVD says wrong region ?

hi Nigel.
Region codes prevent playback of DVDs in other geographical regions. If you receive a region error while playing a DVD with RealTimes, this means that the region code of the DVD does not match the region code of the DVD drive. ... You can play Region 2DVDs only on a DVD drive that is set for Region 2.

How do you change the region on a DVD?Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager. The DVD Region tab might not be available for all DVD drives. To configure your DVD drive to play discs from other regions, select a geographic area from the list of regions.

Change region on DVD

As I'm sure you know, DVDs are coded to a region of the world. Here's how it breaks down:
REGION 1 -- USA, Canada
REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)
REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 -- China
REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use
REGION 8 -- Resevered for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...
REGION 0,9 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played Worldwide
So here we go...
  1. Power on
  2. Open tray
  3. Push the info on remote once (with supplied remote) You will see numbers.
  4. Press 9 for multi-region. keep trying until you see the number 9 appear in upper left corner
  5. Power off
  6. Power on

Bh7530 region free code can anyone help

I don't think so.
When a DVD disc is created, it is encoded with a "Region number." The disc will only play on DVD players with the same Region number - for instance, a Region 3 disc won't play on a Region 1 player.
Region 1: U.S. and U.S. Territories, Canada
Region 2: Japan, Western Europe, Middle East, South Africa
Region 3: South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Southeast and East Asia Region 4: New Zealand, Australia, Pacific Islands, Mexico, Central/
South America
Region 5: Russia and the former Soviet Union, Africa, Indian
subcontinent, North Korea Region 6: China
The only way to get around the region codes, is to rip a DVD to your computer and remove the region code. Then burn the DVD to a DVD R. There are programs around on the net, but I'm not sure it is legal in all countries.
Google for the programs.
A DVD player sometimes allows you to change the region code once. But it not even would allow you to switch back after you changed it once.

I believe the 7200 is not able to be unlocked for region free play though

American Blu ray dic not playing in my malaysian sony bdp -s370

BD media does have region codes. But, unlike current DVD players, the region codes for BD media use letters instead of numbers to indicate a particular zone or region where the discs can be played.

The BD region codes are as follows:

  • Region A: North America, South America, U.S. Territories, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and other areas of Southeast Asia
  • Region B: Europe, Africa, Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.
  • Region C: Asia (except for Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and other areas of Southeast Asia)

What is the country code for australia - lg dvd recorder

The geographical regions are as follows:
REGION 1 -- USA, Canada
REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)
REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 -- China
REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use
REGION 8 -- Reserved for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...
REGION 0 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played Worldwide, however, PAL discs must be played in a PAL-compatible unit and NTSC discs must be played in an NTSC-compatible unit.

The end result is that DVDs encoded for regions other than Region 1 cannot be played on a region 1 DVD player, also, players marketed for other regions cannot play region 1-stamped DVDs.

Hope this information is useful to you.

I have just bought a Toshiba SD590EKB dvd player and it will not play certain discs, it keeps on saying wrong regional code. How can I solve this problem?

Check the back of the dvd player and it will have a small sticker with a small picture of a globe (or earth) and it will have a number being one through to six, this will determine what region discs you can play in you machine. Ill list the regions and their codes, i hope this helps.

Region 1 - The U.S., U.S. territories and Canada.

Region 2 - Europe*, Japan, Middle East, Egypt, South Africa, Greenland.

Region 3 - Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong .

Region 4 - Mexico, South America, Central America, Australia, New Zealand, Pacific. Islands, Caribbean

Region 5 - Russia (former USSR), Eastern Europe, India, most of Africa, North Korea, Mongolia

Region 6 - China

Good luck.
