20 Most Recent iRiver E150 (4 GB) MP3 Player Questions & Answers

Hi, I had the same problem with my Iriver E200. The cause is firmware corruption.

I solved this problem using this method:

1) connect your Iriver device to pc and open the disc of your player;
2) you can see various folders: open the folder named "system";
3) this folder contain a *sys file;
4) open this file using notepad;
5) go to the row "version = ...";
6) you have to modify this row by inserting an older version of firmware. For example if you have "version = 1.11", insert a smaller number, for example 1.07. Save the *.sys file edited. In this way you can force iplus3 to reinstall an uncorrupted version of firmware;
7) now open iplus3, go to Tools -> Portable device -> update firmware. You should be able to reinstall firmware.

Somehow the MP3 player is unable to play the music. This may be because the format of the music is not in the MP3 format, so therefore in fact it is there, but is unreadable by the MP3 player. Make sure the music files are .mp3 format.

Hi johnrober753...

Downloading Music to MP3 Player

1...You must download and install Windows Media Player 11 on your computer.
NOTE...Some older MP3 players will not work with Windows Media Player 11 or Windows 7 with Windows Media Player 11.
If this happens to you, then you will have to uninstall Windows Media Player 11 and install Windows Media Player 10.
2...After you have downloaded and installed Media Player on your computer.
3...Open Media Player on your computer.
4...Install all your music into Media Player that you want to install on your MP3 player.
5...Plug in your MP3 player to the computer using your Data/Sync cord, be sure that Windows Media Player is on.
6...Media player should recognize the MP3 player and sync with it.
7...After it is sync'ed with the computer,you can add the music you have installed into Windows Media Player to your MP3 Player.

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto yourcomputer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

i think you could be trying to play the wrong format of video, i really need more information but for now my suggestion is to use a program like "Handbrake" its free off the internet and convert your movies to mp4 or mp4v handbrake will do this conversion for you then its just a matter of transfering them to your device.
hope this helps thank you.

Video can be played on a MP3 player, bur the video files needs to be converted to a file format that your MP3 player supports. Most MP3 players can play AVI movie files. Please click on this link and follow my instruction on converting movies and to copy them to the MP3 player :-
