SOURCE: My Dell Optiplex 745 "No Boot Device Available"

No boot device means that the computer cannot find a drive that has a operating system files and therefore cannot boot up.
This usually means that the hard drive in the computer is faulty.
You need to get a new hard drive and install Windows on the hard drive, together with the drivers for the computer's installed devices and programs to get a working computer.

Hello i have a Dell Optiplex 745 it boots up and starts windows 7 normally then the the screen goes black does anyone know how to fix it?

Can you boot into Safe mode. It is usually done by pressing a specific key during the POST session. If you can, then boot into safe mode and delete the Video Driver. Reboot. TYou should have a VGA display, download and install the video driver again.

Wont boot up properly

Hello,

The Optiplex 745 units have been having a good deal of problems related to failure of parts called capacitors on the motherboard. We have a repair guide posted at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/dell-optiplex-745-repair/ that explains the issue and what to look for. The board can be repaired for less than $15.00 if you can do a little soldering. Check your board and see, my bet is you have the bad caps.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.
