I'd like to know the sequence to connect the following connectors:power sw, reset sw, power led, hdd led from the front panel to the motherboard (motherboard foxconn sis 651 m03. Thanks West

There is no sequence. With power off connect them where they go. Note that if any of the LED's don't light up when they should, you need to power down and reverse the plug for that LED on the pins.

Or is it where to plug them in that is what you need to know?
Look closely at the printing on the motherboard. There are a bunch of pins sticking up that are where the connectors go, and what they are for is usually labeled right on the motherboard, or perhaps on a label that was provided with the board.

If your board is the one in this manual, the pins are located very close to the CMOS battery. Page 21 in that manual shows the diagram. Power LED is the top two left pins. Hard disc LED is the bottom two left pins. Power switch is the top two right pins. Reset switch is pins 3-4 on the bottom row. Pin 5 on the bottom is not used.

Motherboard User Manual For SiS965L?

SiS965L is a chipset designation, not a motherboard model number. That said, most motherboards do label the header pins for the front panel connections on the motherboard, though they are a bit small and sometimes are not adjacent to the pins themselves. The Power Switch and Reset Switch pins are not polarized, and when you determine which they are, the connector plug can be installed on them either way. The Power LED and HDD LEDs ARE polarized. The positive pin is marked with a "+" sign and the Green wore of the Power LED and the Red wire of the HDD LED must be on the "+" terminal.

Problem with panel front conector in Dell Dimension 2200 motherbo

The following information is to assist you in performing the right connections. You should take precautionary measures such as grounding yourself and completely disconnecting the PC form any source of power.

This picture shows the connector for the front panel power button, reset button, and power and hard disk lights: an 8x2 pin connector with 1 pin missing:

The table below lists the pinouts for the connector. The orientation of this table is the same as the picture above, this shows the top part of the connector. All the pins below pin 8 appear to be non-connected.

Each pair of pins labeled Power and Reset goes to the 2 wires for the corresponding button. The hard disk and power LED wires connect to the corresponding LEDs, you need to ensure the proper polarity of the + and - wires for each LED or it will not illuminate.

The above information is for your information only.

How to connect the front panel sould device?

Do you mean speaker or front panel audio? The front panel audio connector is located at the rear of the board, behind the PCI connectors - the speaker connections are in the panel connector block (2x10 pin header) located at the front left of the board.

With the board in it's normal position, the speaker pins are on the right hand side of that block, on the pin nearest the front and the one 3 positions behind that

TRYING TO HOOK UP MU POWER BUTTON NEED TO KNOW

Hi there
The front panel connectors are mainly,
  • harddisk activity connector
  • power switch connector
  • reset switch connector
  • power LED connector
  • speakers connector
  • USB connector
Harddisk activity connector
This normally comes red in colour and is labeled as HDD-LED
Power switch connector
This comes green in colour and is labeled as POWER-SW
Reset switch connector
This usually comes grey in colour and is labeled as RST-SW
Power LED connector
This is usually green in colour and is labled as PWR-LED
Speakers connector
This speaker will give different beep sounds during boot to tell the user if there is any errors. It occupies 4 pins, however only 2 is important for the function. Be sure to connect the red coloured cable to the positive polarity and the black to the negative.

Connetors front panel

you will see underneath the panel pins, where they are supposed to go, there will be +HD Led-, in this case it is positive to the left and negative to the right, work out which wire is your positive, usually red.
When you power up check that the Power Light is on and HDD light is flashing, if they arent take the connector out and turn it around.
If this doesnt work please post you Mobo Serial number here
