Is your air intake clean or clogged.. Maybe it's overheating causing it to shut off.. Had the same problem didn't replace the bulb but cleaned the intake and it works great again. Worth a try.. Intake is located on the left back pannel of the tv.. outside pannel pops off easly.

After about a 40-60 mins tv goes off by itself & orange light blinks for about a minute, stops, then I can turn it back on .15-20 min later it happens all over again.

Sounds like your lamp is overheating...possibly because the fan is not workign or clogged...or the thermal sensor has is failing...google both topics

Toshiba 42HM66 has a whirring noise that stops when power off

this is a bad color wheel, however you cannot just change the color wheel on this set you have to replace the entire light engine.

the fan sound your hearing is the berrings in the light engine you will need the engine replaced

Have a Toshiba 42hm66 and it has started to make a humming/buzzing noise. At first it would make the noise for a few minutes and then quit...now it does it the whole time the tv is on. Any ideas?

Sounds like a fan getting cought on some dust inside you might want to have this serviced if you do not know how to clean it.

The humming would be a fan the buzzing would be the fan getting stuck!!

TOSHIBA dlp projection, model 42hm66 won't stay on

Could be the power supply. You can check the power from supply with multi-tester or voltmeter. If have a service manual, then I suggest testing the ballast as well

14 MONTH OLD TOSHIBA TURNS OFF BY ITSELF

I repair a lot of these and a average tv lasts like 3 years . It is not like the old days. I suspect the lamp or fans or therm protector.

I would call a local tv shop see what they charge for estimate it might be worth his estimate to find out what it is.

Thanks doctor video
