Can I use media receiver PDP-R04U with PDP-436PU display?

1 Can I use media receiver PDP-R04U with PDP-436PU display? 2 Do i need both "pionner" cables from the back of the TV? i just have the bigger one. what dose the smaller one do? audio or more? 3 I don't have the remote for the Media receiver PDP-R04U. I got both unit hooked up with only bigger cable, but media receiver but the 3 lights keep flashing (on ,standby and REC timer)I can hear the fan. would the remote from the PDP-436PU work (remote model# AXD1507)or is my Media receiver that i got from ebay DEAD? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

You need the pioneer media cables hooked up to the media receiver to the plasma unit itself. each end has 2 different plugs. one has 2 thumb screws and the other is a squeezable end that clicks into place. They MUST be on before you plug in any power what so ever!!!! And yes, other information is being passed through.

The Media Receiver is the tuner/connector selector box.
If the top is removed the Media Box goes into shut down mode. It requires resetting by a Pioneer Authorised Service tool.

My pioneer plasma tv is pdp-r04u with media receiver. The back of the receiver has a s-video jack "monitor out". what shoud i connect it to?
My initial response is "An S-Video Cable"... but I suspect this isn't the information you are seeking.
You don't need to connect your receiver to the TV's video inputs UNLESS you want the receiver to switch between different video devices.
PS - more information on what "my receiver" is would help too, also tell us what you're trying to accomplish as the end result.
tell us about all the equipment you have, and how you would ultimately like to be able to control everything, and what inputs and outputs are on each device.

My pdp r04u media reciver red and green ligth not blinking only stady lit when i hook up my plazma with laptop i get green light blinking no picture just i want to know what happen my pdp-r04u problem
if this is only with the laptop,, you need to replace your hdmi board if its with the cable
and you receive sound and no picture replace the tcon board. if you dont have neither
picture or sound replace the power supply.

I open the top cover of my Pioneer Media Receiver PDP-R04U to dust of now it would not start.I tried to reset the box via remote control it did not start.I think I am doing someting wrong.Plasma standby...

Hdmi input on pioneer pdp-r04u doesn't work. The component cables work, but not the HDMI. The digital audio works.
the r04u comes factory with hdmi DISABLED, hook up your hdmi device, and turn r04u to the hdmi  input (input 1 or input 3)  then:
To activate the HDMI terminal: 
1 Press HOME MENU. 
2 Press /  to select “Option”, and then press 
ENTER. 
3 Press /  to select “HDMI Input”, and then press 
ENTER. 
4 Press /  to select “Setting”, and then press 
ENTER. 
5 Press /  to select “Enable”, and then press 
ENTER.
