I have taken the sd card out of the camera, downloaded to my computer and now the camera will not read the sd card? Please help

Hi John,

First, make sure you have the photos on the computer. Once you know they are - then you know you have a working copy of them.

The problem you're describing can be the result of MOVING the files - rather than COPYING the files. Moving is the process of moving the original files from the card and putting them on the PC - while copying leaves the original files on the card and creates a copy on the PC. If you MOVED them then you shouldn't expect to see the original files on the card any longer.

If you copied them and the card no longer shows them or if you copied or moved them and the card is no longer visible the card may have been removed before it completed the file move / copy operation. You should only remove a card / usb drive / similar device when a message pops up saying it is safe to do so.

If: 1) there are no files visible, 2) the card can no longer be read or 3) your computer says the card needs to be formatted first - you may need to do that in an attempt to make the card useable again. If you do not have a copy of the files on your PC - try to copy them to another PC before formatting the card. If you can not get copies of the pictures / files on a 2nd PC, the files / pictures on the card are likely lost. You may find utilities than can restore them however (see link below)

recover pictures from memory card Google Search

Good memory card management includes 1) copying files from memory cards, 2) verifying that they have transferred successfully *and* finally 3) formatting the memory card *in* the camera; *not* the PC. Most cameras offer options to format cards - which is superior to simply deleting files or formatting in a PC. The camera tends to set the card up for its own use - rather than for a PC's use. Formatting the card in the camera can introduce subtle differences that make it worthwhile to do.

Not as much a big deal nowadays - but older devices, cameras, etc. can read / write only to "straight" SD cards. Today, there are SDHC and SDXC types. Make *sure* that you're using the type card your camera expects. Using an SDHC or SDXC card can have unpredictable results when used in devices that expect the older, "straight" SD (no "HC" and no "XC" suffix) type cards. More details about card types can be found linked below:

Huawei u8652 can you move photos from phone to sd

If your SD card is recognized, then go into Files Application (Or any other file manager you might have. I would recommend ES File manager). Navigate to the folder, usually Storage-> DCIM -> Camera. Long press any photo and on pop-up select move(Cut). In some advanced file manager, you can multi-select or even move/copy a folder. Now navigate to SD card (Ext Storage), DCIM -> Camera and paste it.

Do I have to format a new SD card when putting into Huawei G300

Most SD cards come formatted for FAT when new. This is compatible with the Android operating system that your Huawei G300 runs. But even if your card is not formatted as new, you can format it easily in the phone by going to the storage settings.

I have an 8GB micro sd card for my blackberry storm when i put it in. It says media card has inserted contains errors. to correct the errors use a disk error-checking utility on a computer. what do i need...

Hi,

The chances on any micro sd card showing errors can be either the files stored in it are corrupted or the card is simply bad already. You may try to identify the problem by performing the following steps.

1· Access micro sd card through a card reader. May it be built-in in a computer or an accessory that needs to be plugged-in to a computer.
2· Wait for a few seconds for the computer to read the micro sd card.
a· If it asked you to "open the folder to view files", do so then copy all contents in a new folder on your desktop. This is to make a backup copy of your files. Then, format the micro sd card with FAT32 format. Copy all files back to your micro sd card.
b· If it asked you to format the micro sd card, most likely all files are corrupted. Try to format the card for re-use. If not successful, your micro sd card is bad already and needs replacement.

I hope this works for you. Good Luck!

When i put my r4 into my ds its just says cant find menu?

hi it sounds like a software problem. follow the following instructions. Please can you try and reformat the 2gb micro sd card in your pc and copy firmware from the CD back onto the 2gb micro sd card following the instructions below. be warned that formating will remove even the games from the card so make sure you have a backup of the games saved to your computer. any saved games will also be erased.

To format the 2gb micro sd card
1. Insert sd card into usb stick and into usb port.
2. Close autoplay screen if it appears.
3. Right click on removeable drive. (Eg D, E, F or J etc) that appeared on screen in computer window.
4. Left click on format in menu and when format window appears, tick quick format box and select ok. This will erase all content on the sd card and remove any corrupt firmware.

To reload firmware
1. Insert cd into pc cd/dvd drive.
2. Open cd drive on screen and copy and paste the files and folders from the system/english 1.18 folder on the cd to the removeable drive that the usb and micro sd card are in. The folders that you will copy are "_system_" and "moonshl" and the files will be "menu.dat" and "mshl.nds".
3. Once copied, check removeable drive to ensure files and folders have copied over.
4. Remove usb stick from pc and insert sd card back into R4. R4 menu should appear on DS screen.
this normaly sorts this out. paul
