find a mobility scooter supplier in the yellow pages /on line and get one from there
check but most chargers are generic for the voltage of the scooter
Hi, Okay first of all the throttle pot may not be returning to the central position any-more normally this causes a error condition, a bleeping sound, the other thing is the brake is not working correctly , it be worn or not releasing , Do you hear a click when going forward or backwards ?, Some Sterling's work with the brake disconnected so check the wiring.. remember 24v is applied to the electromagnic brake to release the plates allowing you to move, keep me posted please. Hi. The main thing to check for is that the charger is actually connected to the batteries. If the charger has a 3-pin plug that plugs into the scooter, check that there is no broken wires in the plug. Also check the socket in the scooter with a multi-meter, you should be able to read the battery voltage from the meter.
Most chargers sense the voltage in the batteries, and base the charge rate on this voltage. If the charger is not connected to the batteries when it is turned on, it will drop out and go into a fault mode.
Good luck. Neil.
Check that it is unplugged from the charger. Then check the freewheel lever to ensure it is in gear by placing it out of gear first, then placing it firmly in gear. Do this while the key is OFF. Wait three seconds, then turn back on and it should go.
If it doesn't, and you are sure it's in gear and unplugged from the charger, you should be getting a fault code flashing on the charger display. Consult your owners manual to determine the fault and proceed as recommended.
Here's a link to the owners manual if you've lost yours. Good luck.
I can send you the manual (PDF) if you send me your email address. My address is (D*H*u*d*s*o*n at GMail dot com), you need to take the stars out and put the @ symbol in and the .com to make it usable.
