Hood lights I have a Goldstar MV-1320W microwave oven that site over the range. The hood lights underneath do not work. I've tried changing the bulbs and I've taken off the underneath cover to look at the wiring. Everything looks fine (though I'm not an electrician). MicrowaveSvc mentioned that the problem is caused when the bulbs are changed without disconnecting the power first. The problem started long ago, but it could be that I did not disconnect the power before changing the bulbs. MicrowaveSvc also mentioned the problem can be fixed in the control board. What specifically needs to be replaced/fixed?

First remove mains cord from main power. and remove the microwave oven top cover and check the bulb and crefully remove the old bulb and put new bulb. at high voltagae section dont touch any thing ,that area very dangerous ,thats why very carefully work inside the microwave oven ..

Oven quit working on model mv-1320w

That would be a defective door switch, most likely the bottom one.

(It's either the top or bottom switch (not the middle one) and whichever one has thicker wires, not the one with the thinner wires.)

See my help text file on door switches here.

To order other Goldstar / L.G. parts besides door switches, visit Encompass. You'll probably have to call them at 866-779-5835 to get part numbers.

The scrolling speed for the timed cooking is running incredibly fast - too fast to allow the food to cook. I was looking for a manual for Model #MV-1320B.

The owner's manual can be found here.

It sounds like the oven has been placed in "demo mode".

Dear Sir, I have a Goldstar MV-1320W microwave. Tonight, for no apparent reason a loud blowing noise started. It sounded different than the usual fan and would not respond to anything from the keypad. I...

I'd suspect the relay located on the pcb to be shorted, as in the contacts welded/stuck together.  This isn't available separately from Goldstar, as it comes with the circuit board.  The board will probably be prohibitively expensive.  If you have the know-how, remove the board so as to make working on it easier.  Remove the relay lid and using a points file or emery cloth, clean them up.  My experience with this, is the repair works great.  The relay lid may never fit again, as most of them are "sealed", and not designed for removal.  Of course, a replacement relay with roughly the same specs could replace the defective one.  These are usually 120v spst, normally open.

I'm just a typical homeowner who just replaced one for an MV-1310W.
Here's the info on the bag sticker:

Goldstar keypad not working

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

If you would like to have us do this for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

No power

I would say a cooktop lamp got shorted by the moisture.

Assuming your circuit breaker is good, the main problem would probably be a blown 15A or 20A ceramic fuse inside the unit.

Once that's replaced, if the hood lights and /or exhaust fan still don't work, then your control panel would need to be repaired, which we do for $39.95 nationwide.

If you or someone you know decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

If and when you remove or install cooktop lamps, the power to the oven must be unplugged or turned off at the breaker.
