I was watching tv and then it went dead, like someone cut the power. Now I can't get it to come on. TV service working in neighbourhood. I can't find a manual on/off button on my tv to make sure it's on before writing the darn thing off! It's not even 4 years old. It's a 48" Samsung 1080p 120Hz flat screen - not plasma, the other kind - built in 2009 model code LN46A650A1FXZC. Any ideas? It's not responding to the remote and I put new batteries in it to be sure. And everything is plugged in where it should be. It just went dead. Screen went black and sound cut off. Any ideas?? Lynne

SOURCE: sound yes, but no picture on tv

If you have sound on the stations this is a problem in the display. Take bright flashlight and hold it against the screen. Look for an image around the edge of the flashlight. If you see an image then it's one of three problems;
1) The inverter board is bad.
2) The CCFT (cold cathode fluoresent light) are bad.
3) The power supply to the inverter board is bad.
Someone knowledgeable in electronics can replace the bad part(s).

SOURCE: Samsung flat screen T.V with sound problems.

Sounds like the issue is with the set top box of your cable or direct tv provider. Please swap that receiver for the equivalent or a more updated version.If the problem persists. Verify that all inputs on television is correct. It should match. Output of source( digital receiver,dvd player) to Input( television ). Make sure all is secure. Good luck

Went to turn on tv switched on plug nothing happening no lights on tv power going to

Either your electrical outlet went dead or the power supply in your television went dead. Verify operation of the outlet by plugging a light or other known-working appliance in and, if that is working, unplug your television for a minimum of one hour, plug it back in, and test. If it still does not operate, it will require further service.

TV will not turn on.

Sounds like there is a short in the tv somewhere, the clicking is probably a breaker/fuse inside the tv cutting power to prevent damage to the components. Have you tried a different outlet as they can sometimes cause this to occur by surging power to the unit.

TV will turn on, but not respond

Good Day, mistymiles;

Try this before calling a factory authorized service center:

Press " menu 2 > 4 > 7 > 0 > enter", on remote. After settings have been initialized > press the system reset button on the front, once the LED stops blinking > reprogram settings and tuner channels (if not using box). IF NOT fixed call for service (get estimate before repair) and suspect repair of DM PCB (printed circuit board).

Good Luck, big IRISH.

Sony kv27s15 just went dead, how to fix it?

We just experienced the same thing. My daughter was watching TV and it went dead. We could not get it to turn back on. I'm guessing that this model Sony TV had a 13 year life expectancy. I offered it to a local technician who refurbs and sells TVs, and he wasn't interested. He said he doesn't mess with anything over 10 years old because it's too hard to sell. We just went ahead and bought a new LCD HDTV. It's a shame though. If someone were able to fix the old TV, I'm sure a nursing home or non-profit facility could use it. Our only other option is to pay $15 to have it recycled.
