Oil blowing out of the dipstick tube.

I have a 1994 Jeep Wrangler S 2.5ltr. It does not have a pcv valve for me to replace. It was not desinghed on this year and model, it has a pcv elbow that allows breathing both ways. I am having oil blowing out my dipstick tube and connot for the life of me figure it out!!! My oil guage reads 80+ as soon as i start the jeep and stays there the entire time it is running. I figured it was just a faulty guage or sending unit. Not sure now though..... There is pressure building up in the oil pan from somewhere and pushing oil out the dipstick tube. I have read that this is called ''blow-by''. Well ok, how do you fix blow-by??? It was not doing this 2 months ago,,,, and then one day it all started happening. Please help.... is it an oil pump? or the oil sump? or the iol rings on the pistons? or the valves? or what?

Oil is also blowing into the air filter breather box where the pcv elbow goes in at. how do i get it to stop pressurizing itself to much and run like it used to?

Thanks,
Dan

On top of the valve cover there is a fresh air breather unit. Make sure the breather unit is not plugged.
Also the fixed orifice PCV should be clear. Find a tool that will go through the orifice and make sure it is clean.
Remove the vacuum hose and check it for cracks or internal damage. With the engine running, make sure you have vacuum through the hose.
Let me know when your finished cleaning the crankcase breather system.

I have a problem with oil blowing back through the dipstick in my 1994 Jeep Wrangler YJ 6 cyl engine... I have built a few engines of various types over the years and have done all my maintenance all my...

No solution from me, Note: Sounds like your pretty familiar with the Positive crankcase ventilation (PCV). You said the valve is pulling a vacuum I am assuming it is from the intake manifold side correct? With the PCV was working sure seems like it would keep the oil from coming out of the dipstick tube. I am stumped as well, sounds almost like too much blow by from the cyclinders you already stated that with the possible broken compression rings?

Why would my 1994 jeep wrangler have oil in my air filter and in the air filter box

pcv not working.check see if pcv valve getting vacuum at the intake if not look for broke or disconnected vacuum hose to pcv.if pcv valve working with engine running should feel vacuum suction at pcv if not pcv faulty.if pcv okay other possible causes for oil in the air filter.worn oil rings or too much oil in crankcase.

My 1996 jeep grand cherokee oil dipstick tube has vacuum

The PCV system is supposed to pull vac on the crankcase to re-burn the fumes in the oil pan.
But your engine sounds like it has a vent problem via the air filter.

I have 1994 wrangler I am getting alot of oil in the air filter. Is it a bad pcv valve?

You may be right about a bad pcv valve i would start by replacing that, also theres been problems with the tubing for the pcv system, this contains a bunch of tubes a (plastic) that connect to the valve cover and air box and the intake this system gets blocked or restricted, and sometimes the hoses break so make sure its not broken or plugged, start with these tips, hope this helps.

I have a 1991 jeep wrangler.Getting motor oil in the air filter. What could cause this to happen? No PCV valve to replace.

Yes there is a PCV valve, you just have to look for it.
Engine may be over full on oil.

BLOW-BY?

okay blow by is in the combustion chamber ... now if you wanna see whats happening disconnect the coil or pull the fuel fuse so it wont run but tries to start ... when you turn the key .. now put a pressure spark plug gauge to test the compression one by one to each cylindar record the results if you low pressure you can add a little oil in the spark plug hole and a 1/3 pint and put the gauge back on and try to start look for differences ..now think if a test was low and you add oil in the cylindar and test it again and its higher compression the piston rings are wearing . if you get the same low reading with or with out oil the valves are not sealing ..have a Blast !!! Im me if you need ....

Engine blowing oil from oil filler cap

I had the same problem. I changed the pcv valve and checked the hose. It still did the same thing. Then I checked the metal tubing that the hose connects to and found it was full of hardened gunk. I sprayed PB Blaster into the tube let it soak for awhile. Then took an old choke cable, put it on a drill and ran it into the tube like a drain snake. It took a while of doing this over and over but eventually got it cleared out. Now, no more oil all over the engine and hood compartment.
