check the fan relay and the compressor to make sure it is still working...if not there is a capasiter you can replace to get it to work again

Mod. R47 gas RV fridge 1973. It lights and gets cold (sometimes below freezing in the bottom of frige) then it starts to warm up above 55, but the flame is still burning high. I try to turn it down with the fridge thremostate and it stays the same. Is it the thermostate? If so where can I order one?

The timer is located behind the fridge , down by the compressor .

in the bottom back of the fridge, there is a black box (3"x3") with a little white plastic screw type thing in the center. turn it slightly to see if the fridge starts up. Mine is doing the same thing, making it untrustworthy as it shuts off at will. I am currently looking for the replacement part.

Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.
