I cannot get the cartridge carrier to stop in a position that would allow me to change a cartridge.
Assuming that that you have no errors preventing the cartridge change, press the "setup" button, use the arrow buttons to select "maintenance" and press the "OK" button. The carriage will now move to the replacement position. If you have an error condition and you need to access the ink carriage then swith on the printer and when the carriage begins to move across to the left simply pull out the power cable. The carriage can now be carefully pushed into position. Ensure that the carriage is pushed back to the right before turing power back on.
Hope this helps, please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.
Sometimes
the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even
when the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:
1.
Unplug the printer from the power source.
2.
With the cover open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier
assembly to the ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to
the center of the printer.
3.
Remove the used cartridges.
4.
Load the new cartridges. Close the cover.
5. Plug the printer back to the power source.
